My Faves -Launch date and plans

mytmobile

Sep 19, 2006, 1:36 PM
Hi everybody , T mobile is launching my Faves plan nationwide on OCT 2nd.

They will charge $10.00 on single line plans for this feature.
However on the family plans , u can get My Faves included in the plan for upto 5 lines at no extra cost but they remove the free in network calling .Good news is u can add in network calling in ur family plan for only $10.00 .

and All lines in the Family plan can choose their own 5 numbers.

I Think this will sell a Lot as My Faves is available for both regular and smart access customers. 😁

SO this is what the rep was hinting at when I went to look at the 8100? I noticed the Pearl has a feature to display "My Faves" on it's main screen and you can scroll through 5 numbers via that interface. Guess that means it's compatible. 🙄

I would bet on it personally. Like I said, the software very obviously had the feature built in on the one I played with. I didn't understand it at the time, but it makes all the sense in the world now. 🙂

Is the 'myfaves' icon just listed under menu?? The one I saw did not have it on there. I will be going back to a different store to check it out again.

At the bottom of the screen where you have your "message" and "calendar" icons, there is one further to the right with the 5 dots and when you select it, it becomes the main image on the screen and the dots become little "people" silhoettes. The title of the icon is "Faves"...it may have actually said "My Faves", but "Faves" I remember for sure.

Thanks Vzwdawg - I bought the Pearl tonight. On the box it has the 5 circles so it is myfaves capable. The salesperson told me the software appl will not show up in the phone until the plan is activated on my account. Does this sound right to you? I guess I'll find out Oct. 2nd. BTW I love the Pearl so far.

It sounds pretty consistent with what I've heard thus far. The internet browser wasn't enabled on the one I played with in-store, but the phone was live and even though I couldn't put numbers into the "Faves" menu, the menu was there so I have to assume they told you correctly.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it! It's a pretty damn snazzy little phone!

I have a question for anyone that may have an answer...one thing that did concern me about the Pearl is the idea of a trackball and it's relation to trackballs in mice. Anyone who still has to work with one on occasion knows the rollers inside will gunk up after extended use and prevent the ball from moving smoothly. Does anyone think or know if this will be an issue with the Pearl,...

Yes thats a concern with the pearl , with the rolling ball might not work properly if dust goes inside . u know how it happens with the mice sometimes n we have to open n clean it. Thats the reasson im sticking to my bb8700 . i love it.

Yes, I understand the concern completely! It was the first question I posed to the sales girl at the store. Obviously, it hasn't been out long enough for them to really know, but I can say that the gap between the edges of the trackball and the hole that it protrudes through is extremely small compared to mice. Still, though, it bothers me a bit. I'd hate to fall in love with this nice little gadget only to have it not working too well in less than a year. Especially given mine would spend most of its life in my pocket! 🙄

Phones that are MyFaves capable do not show the option in the software until after you sign up for the plan. Your software update is sent to the phone after the plan is active on your account. I believe the Samsung Trace is MyFaves capable, at least that is what my sales rep told me. He was not aware why the software is not already in these phones but after he & I read the training literature on it the above proved to be true.
