I need help choosing a phone for T-Mobile

I have decided to get a T-Mobile phone. The problem is that I have to get one through smart access (I have almost no credit history at all). Since money is an issue for me, I'm thinking about either getting the Samsung R225, or the Eric T68i that the guy showed me.

I know that the T68i is old, but I've been researching it a bit and think that that would be a pretty cool phone. I haven't ruled out the Nokia 3595 or 6010, but the T68i just looks and sounds like a cool phone.

Later on I may get a better phone, but to get my foot in the door with T-Mobile, I think that the T68i might be a cool starter phone. I can get it for about $70 or $80.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just remember that money is a deciding factor,...

I would be wary about any dealer that is still peddling T68i's... it sounds like somebody that got ahold of some refurbs. Check out the Nokia 6010. From a dealer standpoint, that phone is the same price as the Samsung r225 now. Also the new Siemens flip phone is a cool little handset. I just got them in today, so I can't really give you a very detailed opinion, but I don't think it is cheap and plasticky like some people have said. It's just very small and light, which can fool people. Anyway, the Nokia is a very durable phone with great battery life and good signal strength. One thing to remember is that you may be getting the best deal you will get for a whole year right now when you sign up, so don't buy something cheap now thinkin...

Go to a 3rd party retail store and chances are you will be able to purchase more than you initially expected. I went to Car Toys 2 years ago here in Dallas, TX and purchased the v.60g for $100 prior to mail in rebate, free after rebate. One month prior, my wife got her phone, same v.60g with T-Mobile but for $299 before mail in rebate, $199 after rebate. And back then, this was one of there better phones at that time. Now ofcourse it's an entirely different ballgame with color screen phones.

Getting to my suggestion phonewise, Samsungs are very good to go for. I have the X105 and like it. Good reception practically everywhere I go. The Sony Ericsson you might want to consider is the T610. It's been around on he market for quite a whi...

I'd recommend the Sony Ericcson T610 (we sell it for 149.99 with $100.00 mail in rebate), it makes it a $50 dollar camera phone with bluetooth.

Nokia 6010, its a sweet basic phone with color screen, if you just need the basics in the phone with the option of customization. (we sell it 19.99 but we just give them for free with new activations)

T68i, please stay away from that. If you are willing to spend at least $70-$80 bucks, why not on an up to date phone?

Go to your local T-Mobile RETAIL store and test drive the SE T610 and the Nokia 6010.

Thanks for all of the input and feedback. But now I have a new dilemma. I just won a contest at work and can now spend $200-$300 for a phone.

Now I'm thinking about getting either the Nokia 6600, the Samsung D415, or the Motorola V600.

Sorry about the 180 degree turn around on the whole price issue, but can someone give any suggestions about these phones.

They all seem pretty good, but I've only seen the V600 and the D415 in action.

Thanks again for any help that y'all can give.

The Nokia 6600 is an unbelievable piece of equipment. It has almost everything that a cell phone can have for features, plus its almost a full PDA. The camera quality is great, and the video recording is even pretty good. If you are interested in it, then you should also check the Nokia 3660. It actually uses the same OS and has most of the same features. I personally am using the Motorola V600 at the moment, and so far I'm pretty impressed. The Samsung D415 is a great looking, really nice phone, but comparing it to others in the same price range it is a little under-featured. I think with that one you are paying mostly for the cool factor.

Hey. I know how you feel I have been there before with having trouble choosing a phone. Well since you won that contest. And have more money! I got the samsung d-415 slider phone. I first was going to get the V600 until I heard of some problems with it and T-Mobile kept pushing the date back. Then I didn't know what to get until T-Mobile told me the slider phone was coming out in July. So I did research and liked it alot. So I waited for it. Now I got it & it's a GREAT phone I like it alot lot. And recommend it. But go to T-Mobile.com look, research & compare the phones! And see wich one you like since everyone has diffrent taste & needs! Good Luck! 😎

I think that the E105 is also an excellent choice. It will run anywhere from 50 to 125 after any rebates. . maybe even find it for free. It's a great phone, no camera but overrall sturdy and dependable. It's the same phone essentially as the x105 that sunilsonia was talking about, just a different form factor (flip instead of bar). good luck and good choice for a carrier.

Well, thanks for all of the help. I had narrowed it down to 2 phones. The Nokia 6600 and the 3660, and I'm getting the 3660 because I can get it for $100 less than the 6600.

I decided that I wanted a phone that has the fun stuff for once. Thanks for all of the suggestions, then really did help.
