Unlocked SLVR with T-Mobile?

(The story): I have been with T-Mobile (or predecessors) for about 9 years. I bought an upgrade last week to a Moto V360, and extended for 2 more years. This V360 is junk and after multiple tries at troubleshooting, I have been advised to return the phone for exchange-except T-Mobile doesn't have any V360s because they have discontinued the phone.
Please don't advise me to try for a replacement via customer care, they have screwed me over all week about sending me a replacement V360, and never shipped it. So this non-working ...

That is the least of my worries. I am first concerned about it locking (?) into T-Mobile, and how to tell it to do that.
In the past, customer care has been great, but using a non-T-Mobile phone I have not tried. And the complete lack of customer care this week has me wanting to know if they will help me set this up.
