You can send pictures, sounds, songs, and files to other Bluetooth enabled devices. Some phones may only be able to used with a Bluetooth headset and not snd files. This is the case with the Motorola V710 from Verizon Wireless. The phone has bluetooth but Verizon crippled certain bluetooth features such as sending data, and files, so that the customer can only get ringtones and other things by buying from Verizon on their phone's browser. T-Mobile doesn't disable bluetooth feature. You can tether through the phone, which means that you can use your phone as a modem by using the bluetooth feature to send to another bluetooth enabled device.

There are a few other things that can be done with bluetooth as well. Like Terry said, you can send business cards, or pictures to other bluetooth phones or pdas. You can also push objects from your phone onto a computer if you're computer is bluetooth capable or has a bluetooth adapter.
There's also software available for free on the Nokia website that allows Nokia smartphones to send pictures directly to certain types of bluetooth capable printers (no computer needed!), and many of the same phones have a wallet function that allows you to store your credit card information in an encrypted, pin-protected file on you phone, which can be sent directly to a vending maching or credit card machine (very popular in Europe - but it hasn't c...
