I want to switch from AT&T to T-Mobile and I just bought an unlocked phone from Nokiausa.com, a N97 mini. Will I be able to use the same phone, and not have a contract as a post paid customer? Thanks for any info.
...
well if you do the no contract evenmore plus plan you can have it on postpaid you just have to quailify for post paid...there is still a credit check.
...
ok. I have never had to have a CC with ATT. Does that carry any merit? And have you known of any custmers who paid a zero deposit? Also I have seen people asking about roaming and international data service. Will I still have all of that or is there an extra charge? Thanks!
...
well you can pay more for international texts and calls but no matter wat if you want to be on postpaid you have to have cc
...
ok. Thanks... so the N97 mini will work on your network?
...
Could I do pre paid and bring my own phone? Right now the big thing is the phone as I have just gotten it..
What is my best option: post, and pre?
...
post paid you get more for you money but you have to check what frequencys the phone usings and wat we have thats a way to check if it will work
...
Okay, I just asked the rep at Nokia and he says all of there unlocked phones will work with either ATT or TMO. Thank you for the help

It depends upon how much data you're going to use, and how you want to pay your bill. Prepaid is not flexible with paying for it, postpaid offers more flexibility and the ability to sign a contract down the road when you want a new phone. Also, the n97 mini won't work at 3G speeds unfortunately.
...
ya there are 3G smartphones for around 200$ if you want to go no contract
...
How can I tell when a phone wont work at 3G speeds? What did you look at to determine that the N97 mini wont work at 3g speed?
...
I dont use much data at all I basically check email and ck FB once in a while. What do you mean how I want to pay my bill. I normally pay in full online monthly.
...
I am being told that the N97 mini is a 3g phone.
...
To work on T-Mobile's 3G network it must have the 1700MHz or AWS bandwidth. This is the frequency that T-Mobile's 3G operates on.
