Samsung Behold is here

So I just spotted the Behold on T-Mo's website.
There's no WIFI (bummer) and it only has the T-mo web service for $5.99 listed as an internet add on. I'd think for a 3G phone you'd be able to get on the G1 internet plans instead. Is the a T-Mo ploy to keep sales of the G1 high or WTF 🙄 ?

I was looking forward to getting the Behold instead of the G1 and is the Behold running Windows mobile or the Android OS? None of the reviews I've read anywhere states it.

To respond to your internet plan, I STRONGLY recommend you get the 5.99 t-zones plan. T-Mobile will be changing data rates soon.

Example:
5.99 T-zones + 14.99 Unlim MSG under the old plan - 20.98

New data plan: Bundles Internet and MSG - $35

T-Mobile considers the Behold a smartphone, and you will pay the Smartphone data rate unless you grandfather t-zones and you will be fine.

If you get the $5.99 tzones then you won't be able to get on the internet with it. You need to the $19.99 internet package to get full web browsing.

Good to know that. Still tho, it's a good time to remind everyone with non-smartphones that want web access to be granfathered to the 5.99 T-Zones plan so they won't have data caps when the prices change on 11/16. Also note for people that have BB/WinMo/Sidekick devices to also get current pricing on data plans before prices go up. I have recently looked over the new data plans.

For Blackberry/Windows Mobile/Sidekick devices:
24.99 for Unlim data + 400 MSG

34.99 for Unlim data + Unlim MSG

If you're on a Family Plan with Family Unlim MSG, or you're on an Unlimited plan,

Sorry I got cut off. If you're on a Family Plan with Family Unlim MSG, or you're on an Unlimited plan, you pay 24.99 JUST for Unlimited data, the same price for 400 Messages and data for single line

You can get the phone with $5.99 tzones but you don't get full web browsing with it. If you want full web browsing you need $19.99 internet package.

The behold is not running windows or android. Its running samsungs own OS.

So in your opinion, is it better to wait till the new internet rate plans come out? I saw that there would be a cap on those. Would there be a cap on the current internet package?

There is a soft cap of like 10GB on the data plans. Most people will never even come close. This is just to stop bandwidth hogs.

I went into my local T-Mobile store and played with the Behold. In all honesty, it's not that impressive as say Sprint's Samsung Instinct. And in regards to the data plan, I'd say the lower price plan you can get with this, you'l...

I was able to test one out at the local T-Mo store and I'm gonna pass on this phone; looks nice and all but its not living up to the hype for me. It is also app locked and that's a big deal breaker for me.
