i know there's a way to request new towers in your area with sprint, but does t-mobile have a program like that?
i have zero service at my house and have to walk/drvie about 10 miles until i can find a little service.

cool... but what are the odds that they actually build a tower near my area?

i would say fairly unlikely right off the bat. New towers are quite expensive and there needs to be permits and all kinds of requirements met before they just "put up a tower".

The idea behind these systems is that if there is enough requests from a given geographical area then they begin looking into putting in a new tower to take care of that area.

that sucks... everyone in my area either has nextel (iden) or verizon (cdma).
so i guess that means that gsm users are pretty much screwed!

It still doesn't hurt to make the requests. Just because "everyone" has iden or cdma, doesnt mean that it wouldnt benefit the gsm users in the area. and I can say that T-mobile is very serious about improving their coverage.

I say give it a shot, what harm could come from it.

i guess you got a point there.
i actually called the tech department and they put in the request to improve the service in the area.
hopefully some good will come out of the request.

did you get that service request number. if you call back in a couple of days it lets you know exactly how many days it'll take. ive seen one say 120 days to get better service in her area. and it was dead like your she actually got up to 3 bars MAX! but mostly 1 or 2. but just call back woth that number and you'll know whats going on. if no just cancel fight what you can to get that 200 fee waived. why should you get charge for something you never had. .. no body should be paying for something they cant get. its like ordering a pizza paying with credit card and delivery boy never shows up.

in no way should you not have to pay the termination fee. that is what a trial period is for. if it didnt work in the first place why would you keep it?

you can also sign for the tmobile hotspot @ home service and use a hotspot @ home enabled phone to have unlimited calls through your home wifi - then there is no need to worry about having to have a tower to be able to make/receive calls -

if you have an internet connection, you can get a router from tmobile , or anywireless router from a store that carries wireless routers that will enable you to have wifi - you just connect it to your existing internet connection - it's very easy to do .. and then you will even have cell phone service if you travel to places that doesn't have a cell signal , but has an open wifi ,, your phone hotspot enabled phone will automatically connect to it - it's a really great service -

you can purchase a wireless router for alot less than that at ciruir city , staples, office depot , and sometimes tmobile offers rebates on their wireless routers - tmobile has alot of phones now that support wifi and alot of them have great rebates or are free with a contract extension - most people have at least a 39.99 nationwide plan anyways , so you would only add 9.99 a month to whatever plan you have -
- and on top of that - I use the hotspot@home service , was able to get a tmobile wireless router for free with their rebates and i know alot of people who live in very rural areas that have no cell signal ,, so they subscribe to the hotspot@home service and they now have great unlimited service in their home as well as on any open wi...

1)all but 1 tmobile plan is 39.99 or higher
2)the 9.99 charge for the hotspot@home is ONLY if you want to save your minutes while in a wifi zone. You can still use the wifi reception boost without paying the 9.99 a month. You'll just use minutes like you regularly would.
3)The HiPort router is $149.99 if you buy it without a new activation. With a new activation, it's $49.99
4) The HiPort router is only necessary if your buying the Tmobile@home service, which is different from Hotspot@home.

If you have a hotspot@home enabled phone, you can purchase a wireless router from anywhere and it will work.

You need to get the Tmobile@home service! This improved my coverage at home to a full signal where before I could not even use my phone. It's a home phone network for $10 a month. It is well worth it!!!!!
