Come on T-Mobile, would you get you're high speed 3G up and running...everywhere already! I used to think great customer service & competitive prices made it worth my while to stick with T-Mobile. But with the advent of the smartphone & every other carrier's high speed data I'm not so sure anymore.

Its not T-Mobiles fault, it is well known that it has taken this long because the governement is taking their time getting off of the spectrum T-Mobile purchased.

Just spoke to a friend within T-Mobile and the unofficial release date for 3G in the Seattle area is August. Along with new Android handsets.
We'll see.

What is really funny about this one is that TMo knew when they bought this the government had no deadline to get off of this spectrum, nor would they be subject to any fines if they did not. Its like buying a car and saying you are going to use it for awhile, I don't know how long, but someday I will give it to you. Smart buy.

Unless you live in a major metropolitan area, it is unlikely that you will see 3G from T-mobile until mid/late 2009 or even 2010. They are only releasing it in 20 markets this year.

Maaaaan...Sprints launching 4G this year. I love high speed data, main reason why I have Sprint. My lady has the LX on T-Mo, man you can just see the difference. I have the Mogul, Wing on T-Mo) and it has Rev-A. I can plug it and use it as a modem to my laptop, and man the speeds say 10 MBPS since I live in a Rev-A area. I love it, I think you just have to be a bit patient. I mean, when 3G rolls out, I believe thats as fast as CDMA EV-DO. Its significant, enough to get you by. lol hey but Rumor has it that T-Mos mom and pops are gonna buy out Sprint. I doubt it, but if it happens, thats good news for you! 😁

LIAR. You cannot get 10 mbps from any laptop connection card, much less sprint's. It tops out around 2 mbps real-world speeds. On to your second statement, comparing 3g (UMTS) to evdo. 3g is faster now nitwit. 🙄 Please don't post if you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Thank you.

Acting like a child and demonstrating your ability to use blockquotes still doesn't change the fact that you are either lying or mistaken.

Part of a family of CDMA2000 1x digital wireless standards. 1xEV-DO is a "3G" CDMA standard. EV-DO originally stood for "EVolution, Data-Only", but recently is also referred to as "EVolution, Data-Optimized".

EV-DO provides data rates over 10 times faster than 1xRTT, the previous data technology for CDMA networks.

Unlike other "1x" standards, EV-DO only addresses data - not voice. It requires a dedicated slice of spectrum, separate from voice networks using standards such as 1xRTT.

There are currently two main versions of 1xEV-DO: "Release 0" and "Revision A".

Release 0 is the original ...

Name calling also will not change the fact that you are completely wrong. 🙄

Exactly!! At first I didn't care much but now I am becoming extremely impatient with their promises of 3G running in more than ONE city and their lame 3G handsets. The only thing preventing me from jumping ship is my dislike for AT&T, and my reluctance to leave GSM for CDMA
