Non-working Text

I'm a little frustrated at Tmobile. For two weeks now I either don't receive text messages I'm sent or I get them 2 days later. I've called Tmobile several times about this problem and everytime they say we know there is a problem and technicians are working on it but we don't know when it will be fixed. Is anyone else having these problems?

I'm not having problems! It's probably just in you're area. Wait like 2 more days then try to go to a T-Mobile "owned" store and tell them the problem and bring you're phone so they could see what's wrong "in-person".

When I was with Nextel I had this problem many times, but only when texting back and forth with a Verizon subscriber. I had that problem happen to me once with Cingular, it was also with a Verizon subscriber. Maybe it's something on Verizons part?

Yeah I would take your phone into the store so the T-Mobile certified phone techs can fix the problem, right there...in the store.... Or......switch to Cingular, pay a little more, and have a working service in more areas, all the time.

Hope This Helps!

I'm pretty much ticked 😡. For THREE weeks now my text messaging hasn't worked right. So I decided to call T-mobile again and ask if or when I could expect it to be fixed. They still don't know when it will be fixed. My friend told me the other day I had a half rate cell phone company. At first I was offended, now I think he maybe right.

Half rate? #1 by JD Powers in three different categories. Not necessarily half rate if you ask me. I wish I could answer questions about your text messaging but the only problem I had was with a Cingular phone and I had T-Mobile service. I just got them to send me updates and the right codes for the phone.

ok first of all ARE YOU LEAVING YOUR PHONE ON 24/7, if so that could be the problem, turning your phone off and back on again at least once a day can do wonders for these kinds of issues, next you need to verify that your message center number is properly programmed on your phone (you will need the proper number from tmobile), and finally the only real thing you will need to call t mobile for is to make sure (i dont know how their billing system is setup) that you have text messaging availible to you on your account

That's just plain silly. I leave my phone on 24/7 for *weeks* at a time. The only time I have to repower the phone is sometimes the phone will have a glitch. That is rare. I can'...

actually its not, for example, the motorola v220 for ATTWS had a glitch where if you left it on for 3.3 days it would drop ALL calls, silly huh? 😉

Maybe that's something faulty with Mot. I've never had any problem with my Nokias keeping them on for literally weeks at a time without repowering the units.

Ok FIRST! its a problem with T-Mobs systems cuz well, i work evryda for a wireless company and NEWS FLASH our phones ringing or receiving messages mess up our phones that we take calls on, so, i cant leave my phone on. Since i have been through all the troubleshooting steps you noted...i think you need not assume that all of us complaining know absolutely nothing about it. 😈

Also, have you tried sending a text message to yourself? That can help isolate whether it's an issue with your phone not being set up right, whether or not it's the TMo network, or possibly an issue with a different network the SMS are coming from.

Thanks for your replys. I've read through some of them and thought I'd clarify some of the steps I've taken to try and correct the problem. First of all YES I DO shut off my phone everyday mostly at nite when its charging. Yes I do have the text messaging feature on my phone and pay $6.99 a month for it. I have gone through the trouble shooting steps with the technical support people at tmobile and have had my phone checked out at a local dealer. I purchased my phone(s) from tmobile and the text feature used to work pretty much flawlessly. I've also tried both phones, Motorola V300 and Samsung E715, but the problem still exists. (FYI- the V300 has not been a very good phone for me at all, I like the features and looks of the phone but I s...

You probably were having problems before, they dont start a trouble ticket until AFTER so many problems have been reported. As for mine i send hundreds of text messages a month and this just started within the month of january. So i definately understand and unfortunately we just have to wait for T-Mo to fix it...but still frustrating...GRRRRRRRRRR hehe
