Probably never, T-mobile keeps pushing it back. I remember in 2006 they were saying the end of the year. Then 2007 came around, and the optimists kept saying the summer, then summer became winter. Now it 4/2008 with 3g nowhere in sight. I'll believe it when I see it. Even the optimists are saying the 3g will only be released in a few select cities. So basically, I'm guessing 2009-2010 at best.

Well we have to remember that it isn't TMo fault for not having it out. The feds are taking their sweet ol' time in releasing/vacating it. I would love to switch back to them but until they are able to expand the coverage I unfortunately am not able to because my work takes me to some godly remote areas.

Anyone heard this??.....

"Well the reason AT&T has it and not us is because we actually test our network and want to make sure it's available everywhere, and not just in most places like AT&T"

Yeah ok... like AT&T did't put any thought or testing into it. I'm no AT&T fan, but CMON, what a load of CRAP

Come on dude! Do you really believe what you just wrote. VZ and Sprint both did soft launches in limited cities and increased their coverage. The reason TMO has not released 3G is because the government is taking their time vacating the spectrum. And most likely TMO will do the same by covering a handful of major metro areas and expanding coverage from there 😛

You do know that the AWS spectrum was vacated and Cricket has already launched their AWS NA1700Mhz network, so the not vacated excuse can no longer be used, but I do know that somethings going on regarding equipment/network upgrades being ramped up on T-Mobile because my services has been severely spotty the past month and has been getting worse everyday. It's so bad that T-Mobile has a taped message play at the beginning of each customer service call stating that they are working on fixing the problem.. I'm in Chicago.

trust me if Tmobile had the spectrum to use they would have made 3g sooner. im sure tho they are probably going to use the chicago area as a test market though so they are probably getting everything prepared. its coming soon.

From what I have heard Chicago and New York are the two cities that will be live first with the 1700 band on TMo. Take a look at where Cricket is releasing their AWS spectrum and you will want to retract your statement as it is in some of the oddest places. Actually I don't think they really "lunched" it but rather have just announced it.
