Unlock Codes

I have a Samsung t629 and will be a customer of T-Mobile one year as of July. I remember that T-Mobile used to give you unlock codes if you had been a customer a certain length of time and were going on a international trip. I was wondering if they still did this. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you just have to be with T-Mobile for 3 months. Just bring the phone into a corporate store, and they'll file the unlock request for you.

We can't "file" the request for customers. Please don't waste a reps time with something you can call customer service yourself for. 👿

It's true that a RSR can not file an unlock request with out having to call into customer care. However, it is not a waste of time for the rep. You are providing in store customer support for the customer. They will remember that and return to YOU next time they need help or want to add to their account . You are paid an hourly rate to do just those types of things for your customers. If all you want to do is sell the customer and not support them, you are working for the wrong company!

If a customer comes to my store for an unlock I will call for them with no complaints. However it still is inefficient, and does technicly waste time. Two reps are both using their time for this when it only requires one.

if you're incompetant: go to the store.
if you know how to call customer service: do it.

that's that.

This is someone who is reaching out on a public forum for information on how to get the unlock code for the phone. It's a waste of time for them to also waste gas and time to do something they can do from their home.

The correct response to their question would have been to just call 611 from the phone or the toll free number instead of sending them into a store to do something they can accomplish at home.

Believe me, I provide in store customer care and would be more than willing to help someone with an unlock request if they walked in the store. But it's irresponsble to direct them to a store in a public forum for something they can do at home.

RSR's do not have access to remedy, so we cannot file unlock codes, it is done through customer care.
