People just aren't very smart @_@

This conversation is going to happen with every carrier until they all charge 15 cents. I wonder though, where will all these idiots go then?

I'm not because I don't care that much, but, if you were a giant company and you could raise the rates on text messages wouldn't you do it? Sprint did it, and since texting is an epidemic that $.05 per text increase could lead to a ton of new revenue.

Cingular is raising there texting cost to $0.15 per message, however there has been no indication Verizon will match that at this time.

the article says

Yes, you can get out of the ETF.

However, most of the comments say

No, you can't get out of your ETF.

Which is right?

well my situation is kinda complicated. basically, I have a Family Plan and the primary line is not the one i normally use. I mostly use an additional line. So would this work:

1. Go to my local VZW corp store.
2. Cancel my additional line with out penalty.
3. Activate a new additional line with a new phone (samsung i730, no data plan)

I don't care much about keeping my number. Would they let me do this? I know the people at the store, and they know me 🙂 I'm in there a lot playing with the phones and chatting wiht them.
