Please explain plan upgrade procedure.
I am trying to use my NE2 on the website to upgrade my phone to the 8300. When I say I want to upgrade, it gives me a long list of phones it says is 'available with my current plan' and a short list of phones that I would need to get a 'plan upgrade' in order to use. (Whatever that means.) The 8300 is on this short list.
But here's the thing: I go to upgrade and get to the end where the plan summary is. Poof! My unlimited IN calling is gone. Poof! my unlimited nights and weekends is gone. Poof! My corporate discount is gone. It also shows Mobile Web 1.0 still even though I selecte...

P.S The corporate discount comes off your bill, and probably wouldn't show up on line anyway.
I've actually been trying to upgrade through an agent because I think someone on this site said the agents get commission. But three days in a row I've waited in line for 10-45 minutes only to be SHOWN the 8300 and allowed to HOLD the 8300 but not permitted to BUY the 8300. Stuff like this turns folks bitter after a while. If Verizon isn't going to let the stores sell a phone they shouldn't be selling it on the website, especially if their sales people work on commission.
P.S. go in about 20 min before closing, were always dead then

I've heard all the justifications on this site for why the confusion/secrecy about phone release dates. I partially agree with a couple of them but still believe there should be a better way to do things.
BUT IN SPITE OF THE JUSTIFICATIONS, they aren't even giving the sales reps a chance if they are releasing the newest products commission-free weeks before the reps are permitted to sell them.
If they want to play secretive games, fine, but then they should not be releasing the phones on the website until ALL stores have a chance to let their salespeople get a commission.
Now I'm even more determined to wait and...
