Verizon Phone Testing ?

May 5, 2006, 11:57 AM
Really how long can it take to test a phone. Is verizon regulated by the FDA? Complete and utter bullshit for any rep for verizon to get on this forum and say the delays are do to testing. PLEASE! There are people on this site that can have the phone tested and figured out in a week. Get rid of your dumb ass testers.....if that is really the case. However, I know the delays are not due to testing. Its about money and numbers. Verizon employees please stay off this forum. I have never seen an accurate release date from you or your friends or family members that work for Verizon. Infact.......they really give us nothing.....leads me to my Mushroom theory! Hehehehe

You are the kind of annoying customer that would come crying into the closest verizon store if your phone was not working properly or had a defect due to the fact that it was released early....get over yourself...maybe people who have no common sense should stay off of this forum...

If the long wait times for phones is due to testing, then please explain the LG 6100.

There are still going to be phones that have their fair share of problems, no matter how long they are tested. What I am saying is that there would be many more if Verizon was not as strict about it. VZW has way fewer "problem phones" then other carriers, I know as I have sold them all, and part of the reason for that is the testing process.

suprised you used the 6100 for an example and not the razr, or the cdm8910

check this out homie.

in nov. 04 the razr was released by moto. in cingular testing guess what they found was wrong with it?............the aircraft steel it was made from transfered heat. so much the kepay would imprint your face if you talked on it for 30 minutes or more. if that product was released there would of been a big ass lawsuit.

It's funny that you would think that they aren't tested much. While this area of Phonescoop is guily of poking fun at other carriers testing of cell phones, they test pretty extensively too.

I think the assertion here is that VZ does so a bit more. I am comforatble that this is true.

With a post as yours, you are letting us know that you don;t really have a cursory understanding of how cellular service works and how much of a miracle it is that you can travel as you do and use this technology. Even the worst carrier performs this miracle every day and with astounding consistancy.

Doing so with new equipment needs extensive testing. Not only does VZ test equipment but the manufacturer does so in development and likely even longer so....

Oh please stop the crap. I understand the testing process. And the delay on released phones for Verizon has nothing to do with that process. Total BS! It always takes the customers like the ones here on phonescoop to find problems with the phone after a day or two of release but verizon has the phone in the hands of its reps for 6 to 18 months and they still miss the obvious V710 camera issue. Give me a break! I had the E815 for 4 months before it was released by Verizon and it still works great!

A friend in Chicago is great friends with a guy that is in global sales for Moto. In-fact the I had the V710 about 6 or so months before it came out and it never had the camera problem......weird! Anyways, I can get the production model of the Q but who wants to pay $900.00 and I don't mean pro-to type. My point is that release delays are usually because of incompetent testers and dollar signs for Verizon.

Ok, let me get this straigh. YOU have a friend who in the past has given you phones waaaaaaa y before they are released. He works "in global sales for Moto" still you come here to complain about phones NOT being released on time???? WTF?
With a friend like that I could care less when Vzw releases a phone. I'd just get it from "your friend"
Unless you're not friends anymore? 😕

The thing that sucks is the cost me big time. We are not best friends. I would buy and sell Moto phones to make up for the crazy prices. Example: Moto Q $900.00......not cheap!

are these devices actual vzw branded devices?

i'm curious to know how they'd attach the esn to an account without a phone being pubically released on the cdma network.

i'm sure your friend doesn't have eros to do it for you. unless he has an under the table job at vzw which is conflict of intrest. 😳

please explain.

Well, since you have established your credentials as an expert on the subject, I would suggest that you list such things and how it is that you know testing is less than what is said.

If you know better, spit it out. Quit the song and dance game. You seem the be the one who is equally caustic, condesending and abrubt in your sense of expertise on the subject.

How do you know?

You can come to the forum, act like something your momma wouldn't like, be rude, question things and leave if you don;t like it...and likely what you'll do.

So, what gives? Tell me a story about cell phone testing and I would suggest specificity in background and facts.

Nice choice of words. You seem so smart!

I never said I was an expert but common sense and the information at hand........tells me the delays on these phones is not because of verizon's extensive testing on these.....in your words, "miracle phones". 🤣

This is a simple fact: Verizon gets a phone and extensively test the thing for several months. When its released the camera doesn't work, the volume is too low, the phone's inner screen gets scratched because the buttons are to high.......just to name a few things that were noticed within a few days of release from people on this forum. The V710 was delayed forever and these things were missed? Come on!

Okay.....this leads me to believe that mentally challenged people test the pho...

Aa they say 'I am in the industry' and far enough to know at least a little of which I speak. Understand that I say 'a little'. I don't want to overstate what I know.

What you ignored about my previous post is the deliniation between testing and manufacturing flaws. The V710 was not a testing issue. The assembly for the testers were probably carefully done. Whereas the production unit, the camera components were stuffed in like a cork in a cheap wine bottle. Not nearly all V710's, including mine, had the issue. Some. That would make it a production issue. The same with a scratched inner scree. Production.

Some of what you mentioned is something missed in testing (eg - volume)and shouldn't have been missed. That is one issue, that shoul...

This is a classic, you know someone who knows someone. Though personally I preferred you're mushroom "theory".

What's even better is you're hypothetical ideas involving Verizon Wireless testing which you tout for fact. Bravo on beating all the other trolls on the twit-o-meter.

Anxiovert you never held my #1 spot sorry. ArmySF had it before; some tips on getting the prestigious spot.

1) Form biased opinions based wholly on nonsense and spam it as fact

2) You need to step up you're belligerence in the threads you present yourself in.

3) Once you're cover is blown you need to harp on all your previous "facts" in every thread possible.

4) (This is the most impotant one) No matter how wrong or how illogical your stance on a subject you MUST under no circumstance give in to logic or factual information.

"First of all the Mushroom "theory" was a bunch of rhetoric. You attempt to goad the reps and other Verizon employees into giving you information that is not available to the public yet. I will not even attempt to explain Anti-Trust to you as its obviously past your limited understanding.

But I will humor you in hopes you will keep posting, please provide the background for your sapience when regarding Verizon as a company. Specifically how and when we the corporate employee gets our information.

My poor little Mushroom is in denial! 😢

As for getting Verizon Employees to give information......come on they can't give what they don't know. 🙄

Hey I wonder how the Verizons customers that want the Moto Q would feel? If they found out that the Q won't be released until 2007 and Verizon knows that now!

Also what started this crap is the button mushroom reps (or claim to be) that get on this forum and give false information.

VZWrSr = Button Mushroom 😛
