I don't like verizon cause

Hmm as of dislikes... where do I start...

1. Overpriced TXT plans. (They cost a 1/10 of data of one second of a phone call... were talking bytes here people)
2. Overpriced Data plans. (They literally have per MB plans still. I remember when dial up first came out and there was a set rate per MB from some ISPs. That was 12 years ago!!!! Also there PDA UNlimited Data plan is 3 times more the other carriers)
3. Crippled Bluetooth
4. Cripple Interface
5. Low end phones that are expensive (Does anyone realize that Verizon Wireless does not subsidize? It's all a lie... it did happen a god 8+ years ago, but now they pay on average $60 a month per phone and charge you 4x more for it. There is a reason...

Not sure where you are getting your info but Verizon does subsidize handsets. Do you really think the V3i is ONLY $200 cost to Verizon? That is just one example.

200 cost? How about free? That's what Verizon is giving out on a line that only nets them 240 bucks over 2 years. Think that the average cost to maintain one line is 27 bucks and throw in a free Razr...

Tell the original post to never take philosophy. Nearly every argument was an opinion...not a fact.

Agreed. That guy was not at all logical on several of his points.

I was saying the phone was MORE than $200 and hence being subsidized when sold at the standard $200 with activation price level (at least in this market on Alltel).

The V3i is a GSM model. It is the RAZR with iTunes (coming soon!)

All that doesn't matter cuz they have the best coverage, and ppl need cell phones that have good coverage. Damn the business of making money by giving ppl wat they need vs wat the want. 😎

The only thing that I wish Verizon wouldn't do is cripple bluetooth and charge airtime for downloads and sending pictures/videos. You already pay for doing it, why charge airtime on top of that?

Voicemail doesn't cost anything. You are wrong there. All current plans include voicemail. It does use airtime to check voicemail from your phone (unless it is night/weekend time). But you can check voicemail from any other phone without using your airtime. Also, to my knowledge this is standard for all cellular carriers (Nextel still has plans that Voicemail costs to have).

and 20cents a minute for long distance cellular...and 10 cents per minute for long distance walkie-talkie...I am in Partners Market and the promo plans are so much more value then the Nextel standard plans. I wonder what sales will be like once Partners is merged in with Sprint.

Can't stand Verizon.

They sold me a phone 2 1/2 years ago. The battery is shot, so I go to the Verizon store to buy a new one.

Verizon doesn't carry my phone anymore more so... no battery. The phone says Verizon on it, I bought it from Verizon, I pay Verizon for service on that phone they sold me, and now I get to pay for wireless service and Verizon won't provide the accessory for me to have a working phone.

I have 3 options

1. the $127 option, buy a new phone, cheapest phone $127

2. the $350 option, buy out the plan at $175/per line

3. $2400 option, sign a new contract for 2 years and get a free phone.

4. $0 option, limp along using phone only when plugged in until contract expires.

They are using a strategy of p...

I agree that it is pretty poor service to not carry a battery for a 1 1/2 yo phone that Verizon does not allow to be sold through any source except them or their authorized agents.

However you do have another cheaper option. Go to Ebay and pick up a battery for six or seven bucks total including shipping. With any luck you may have it by the weekend.

If you truely had your phone for 2 1/2 years you can definitely get a phone cheaper than $127. I do not see it as planned obsolescence, but rather technoligical advances. It happens not only with cell phones, but computers, PDA's, video game systems, digital cameras, as a matter of fact most comsumer electronics are going to be obsolete w/in 2 years of purchase.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer to see if they have any batteries available for the model of phone that you have?

So let me get this straight, just so I'm understanding, you are ticked at Verizon because you have used your phone for 2 and a half years and now the battery is dead and you don't like the replacement options that are available to you?!?!?! First off the fact that your phone lasted 2 and a half years, is pretty dang good in itself. Secondly yes you did originally get the phone from Verizon, but they did not manufacture the phone. Phones do come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, and the fact that your phone has lasted MUCH longer then that is a huge plus, because most phones dont. Granted Verizon might not c...

To me it looks like you can get just about any battery on VZW's website as long as the phone is GPS compatible.

No! I’d say there are a lot of us who stick with Verizon because we feel they are the best alternative for us, but still have problems with many of the policies and attitudes. This is hardly either love or hate.

However, I never could understand the fanatic loyalty some of the VZW customers display on this site. All the carriers are just utilities with a typical utility attitude toward customers. Many people on this site brag whenever some study or another shows VZW to be near the top in CS rankings but never read the study closely enough to discover the entire industry ranks very low in CS.

I hope I don’t get flamed by the VZW employees on this site. I think taking pride in their organization is an admirable thing and I understand whe...

A FEW GOOD POINTS IN THERE OUT OF 27, Unfortunately most of your info makes absolutely no sense and even trolls could probably point that out.
No subsidized phone? were are you getting that, it may be the most idiotic thing i have ever heard.
Charge for voicemail? Maybe on plans about 5 years ago or if you want enhanced voicemail, but standard voicemail is included?
Not all phones are cripled bluetooth, look at the nokia or pda phones, for that matter they also have independant interfaces on those devices as well if you hate the standard ui.
then their are a bunch that made absolutely 0 sense? I think you need to put down the crack pipe and come join us in the real world again.
