Ive had a v710 for over 2 years now. The charger port repeatedly breaks. Yesterday I was swapping my phone for the fourth time, and I was about to get a vx8300 free of charge. The customer service rep transferred my numbers over the vx8300 was minutes away from activating it for me. My account is registered on the east coast, but i go to school on the west coast so there is a difference of 3 hours. She couldnt activate my phone because it was past 11pm where the phone was registered. Nearly 2 hours in that bloody store for nothing. I decided, eh **** happens, and she tells me just to come pick it up tomorrow or whenever I get the chance. Ok, I go to the store this morning only to be met by a rep who really didnt seem to care that V71...

With all the troubles then this I think it puts it over the edge. But Depending on where you live and what you use the network for depends on whether you should switch. I personally don't like verizon but is you like cdma and use the network for data then go with sprint. If you love the new iPhone and want to be able to change your phone randomly when you want go with cingular. Chose the company you want to but if it were me i wouldn't go with verizon and I would go with sprint.

and i realize that Verizon does has the best network at the very least.

Look you had the 8300 in your hand that means if it had went well you were more then ready to signed another two year agreement. I don't have a clue why they couldn't activate it that doesn't make any sense, but I know someone will jump in and clear that up. If they truly promised you an LG 8300 for free I would go back to the store and demand to speak with the manager and calmly explain your situation and tell him what was promised you previously! There is know other service that can come close to verizons network, and you realize that so whatever little headache this is causing you get over it man up and take y...

I don't know if this is what happened, but it sounds like to me they called back to the East coast to a VZW store who would process the order. That VZW store was closed. You went in the morning and talked to someone else. I would talk to the same person you talked to the night before. Only do it before 4 your time. Then an eastern store would still be open. Most around here are open until 8 or 9. That would put it at 5 on the west coast.

Sorry for the frustration. The V710 would be sorely missed though. I had one for two years and still miss it. Most reliable phone for signal/quality/calls that I have ever had.

I traded my v710 in for a Q through the Settlement and am still regretting it. Luckily my other phone is an 8300 so the Q is relegated to Tethering with my laptop now. To the other guy, you should probably go while you are out of contract. We will miss you. Still, you are a free agent and you seem to believe the grass is greener on the other side. In my area, Cingular has no Service Reps or Technicians. One goes in their store and takes a number and there are nothing but thirty sales reps ready to sell you a phone or charge you an $18 dollar upgrade fee if you are an existing customer changing phones. I cannot imagine what would happen there if someone with a two years plus old phone came in complaining about it but were unwilling to ...

so yea, i went back. They tried to give me a 710. Words were said. Now I have a 8300. Thx for the advise. I think i might be forced to go for cingular when i get the chance. All the friends have it, so does the girlfriend, and that is the vast majority of my minutes. Which i dont have many of.

Thanks.
