Changes on the Verizon?

Historically Verizon has made changes to calling plans in the month of February. With Cingular/ATT new Unity plan and the fact that just about everybody but Verizon offers unlimited texting to any carrier should we expect (finally) some new calling plans and text packages from Verizon next month?

If Verizon Wireless was to change it's plans based on Cingular's errr AT&T's Unity... then it would offer it's Verizon One Bill Customers In-calling to Verizon Landline #'s. I doubt we will be seeing any major changes and Verizon's 4th Quarter results wont show any slow down.

The fact V-Wireless is not wholly owned by Verizon Communications, I dont think you will see a plan similar to Unity. Also, I don't think Vodophone would support it. Just my 1.5 cents. and that's about all my opinion is worth.

Here is my 1 cent as its worth less then yours:

Verizon has controlling stack in them as they can get it through if they want. But then why would they? Wow I can just see it now. Who is your home carrier? Great I can call you for free. ALltel I think has the best with their my circle. NOt only can you put any carrier but landline phones too. I don't care how big the "community" is. Wow you can call 100 million people for free. The real question is how many of them do you know? And how many of them do you call all the time. I think 10 is a good number!

i've been thinking this for awhile:

Adding Unlimited IN txt for free with the per-text plan.

Like I don't have a text package but I can still TXT other VZW people for free.

If this is true that would be fantastic. I am the father of a 15 year old and unfortunately most of her friends are not on Verizon and she can burn thru the 2500 in 2 to 3 weeks and the last week of our month I have to play the text police...this would save me a lot of time!

I hope one of the changes is cheaper data rates! For god's sake, Sprint's is $35 cheaper. 35 x 12 = $420 per year savings with Sprint. Verizon better get with it. I want a PDA so bad!

They won't and I believe it is one reason. They don't have the spectrum yet. That is why they do not give truly unlimited data. It would degrade the network too much. But as I pointed out to a poster that verizon charges to much. Numbers. Why would they care with the numbers they are posting. And I don't see Monday's numbers going to differ from what they have been doing!

No, Sprint is $15 a month for PDA data. I don't know where you got the $35 from. You might be thinking of the combo Power Vision media package.

But PDA and phone data is $15 a month.

Yes I know Sprint's data is $15 per month. I was saying that $15 per month (Sprint) is $35 per month CHEAPER than Verizon's $45. See? $45 minus $15 = $35.

NOPE! Verizon doesn't care what other carriers are doing, they want Max profits. All carriers could offer free text messaging tomorrow, and Verizon will still charge 15 cents a pop.

Which other carriers don't want "Max profit"?
