I was watching this commercial on tv on which the family is sitting at the table and the dad (whom couldn't be any more idiotic) keeps sending pix. This is one of the many commercials that portraits men as stupid living things that can't keep up with things like, technology.
As an american woman I feel sick of these ads. How about you? guys...
...
i guess he's excited that his heavily resticted phone can send something as simple as a pic, i mean i would celebrate too if i had verizon service and i can send free pics to other vzw customers
...
I would rather watch that then watch some Combines harvesting a field, but maybe the idea of sitting in a tractor and making an at&t logo is cool. Then again I did grow up in the country and never found it fun or cool to watch a farmer drive his tractor around 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
...
This bugs you? That's odd. I mean, you may not find the commercial relevent to you but in my family where so many of them are tech challenged that I could someone in that commercial that I know. That's the target..perhaps not you but that isn't the aim.
Honestly. most of the tech challenged people in my world are women (mom, mother in law, wife) but if that were portayed, that would create a greater social uproar so, better to make the guy look like a dolt and everyone, man or woman, can relate without offense.
The commercial isn't targeted to you but is a direct hit to those that identify.

I Love Verizon Commercials, they are great! The one at the dinner table was funny!
Did you see the one where the guy pasted out, because the football player had a finger popped back in place.
Or those EnV commericals that show the 7 deadly sins, very funny!!!!!!!
I love Verizon!
...
i think verizon should start to build temples where pple can talk on for hours and hours of how "great" their network is and there should be a giant red check mark at the altar where everyone can bow to it

Hey Biatchslapped- How can everyone in the Cingular forum be so happy with 2.4 million net adds in the 4th quarter when less than 900k are postpaid? Didn't Cingy add more postpaid in the third quarter? Isn't the fourth quarter the best quarter of the year for postpaid growth?
Maybe Cingular should have focused less on Go-Phone commercials and more on adding customers that will stay around. I would be worried if my company had a decline in net adds for postpaid and was starting to take the Sprint approach and go after resellers and prepaid but then again maybe Cingular would rather take what they can get at this point to pad the numbers. Last I checked VZW had more postpaid wireless subscribers that anyone else and I would rather see that t...

Stop it! Cingular has always had a large proportion of prepay and retail customers. Considering how many of Cingular's customers are considered prepay and retail and they have a sub 2 churn levels should speak volumes. You fanboys are upset b/c you know VZ will not add as many customers for last quarter.
😢
Its okay! VZ is still the most profitable wireless company. Stop hating the numbers, they are what they are, and thats 2.4 mil!
...
The point here is that 750,000 people bought cellular service and they didn't buy it because it said Cingular. Only 1.5 or so million did buy it because it said Cingular and out of them 749,000 were prepaid users.
More people in more places have a Verizon Wireless logo on their phone than any other carrier in the U.S. In terms of loyalty VZW has the strongest in the industry and should widen that number after the fourth quarter numbers come out provided they add more than 1.5 million prepay and postpaid VZW customers.
The point here is loyalty, what would happen if one of Cingulars resellers went under? Look at Sprint, they put their focus into resellers and that is all that is keeping them going and now Cingular is showing sliding numb...

Yep even Stan understands this its only the cingy fan boys who think everything is honky dory.
...
I do recall Stan being quoted a year or so ago that Cingular needs to be more like VZW 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Since when is $782 million in profit not okay? Since when is declining churn rates not ok? Cingular has invested massive amounts of capital on network expansion, integration, 3g rollout, and has aggressively marketed prepaid customers, because they spend more than most postpaid customers and have not had a negative impact on the overall churn. You're taking an outstanding result from your biggest competitor and trying to make it seem like a disaster. It was not. Resellers are pure profit, they buy airtime in bulk, there's no real downside because Cingular takes in huge money for very little expense. You guys are hysterical.
...
if cingular started to become like vzw ill go back to paper cups and string.
...
Heyyy, did you know that Cingular happens to add more new customers every quarter than any other wireless carrier in the US? And that's been happening every quarter since something like 2003.
Speaks volumes about combines and farmers in advertising. Something's working. 😉
...
you must be talking gross additions ruffy, last I checked almost every quarter since then had VZW adding more net adds. 4id't the combine add just start anyway? I also see that the Cingy net adds are declining quarter over quarter for postpaid! If you ask me the advertising isn't working unless you count the reseller advertising. By the way, it's more cost effective to keep customers than brag about adding more gross only to post less net adds than your competition. you just bragged about this?
...
Yes, gross adds would be what advertising brings in. 😎
And yes, I just bragged about it. Cingular's profit quadrupled in one quarter and that's supposedly with less postpaid additions.
If things keep up the way they are, Verizon won't even be the most profitable company in wireless anymore.
...
I'm pretty sure VZW will stay on top, especially considering how at&t will be wasting billions rebranding Cingular instead of putting the money into their lackluster customer service or network.
Cingy also has a long way to go to match VZW churn results. VZW doesn't have to spend as much to advertise because they bring enough new cusotmers and keep the old cusotmers and continue to post great results, do the math Ruffy and you will see that keeping more cusotmers helps show better net adds. Stan Sigman said it best about Cingular, they need to start being more like VZW! They have a long way to go.
...
im sorry one control-freak cellular company is enough
...
First of all, the billions that AT&T will be "wasting" on rebranding Cingular will definitely not be taken away from Cingular's capital. It didn't affect it the first time around (when Cingular rebranded AT&T Wireless) and it's not going to affect it this time around either.
Cingular puts more money into their network each year than any other wireless carrier, so there's no concern in that regard.
Also, what exactly are you basing your "lackluster customer service and network" claims off of? Consumer Reports?
You and I both know that Cingular and Verizon are the best two choices out there when it comes to network quality and coverage. And as far as Cingular's customer service goes, I'm not sure if you're aware of it or not but FCC c...
