I have seen it happen before, once in a blue moon before a phone is released they will put it on the rebate pad, then the rebate expires and the phone hasnt been released.
Its rare, but it does happen.

I don't see how this article confirms anything. In fact, it says it was a leaked photo/mockup and they have no idea if or when the phone will be released.

It has been reported that that this phone may not have 2.0 in the cdma version and the blue light that run up and down may not be on the this version we will have to wait and see.
