Outside phones with Verizon?

word.

Hi guys,

I'm really interested in using a phone from Asia and/or even a phone from a different carrier. But I'm reading this and that online and not getting a straight answer to how this actually works. One thing I've been finding to be true, though, is CDMA may be more difficult for this process than GSM phones. Does Verizon even allow the use of other phones other than their own on its network?

And if it does...can you guys tell me what to know and how to go about it? Thanks!

Not that I know of, but rumor once had it that techs at the store could do something with Sprint phones and they'd work.

We have some real great reps that post here so I'm sure you'll get the right and exact answer 🙂

So Moto sends a box of razr's, before those are sent to any retailer they must be first loaded into the verizon database. They do this so when the retailer goes to activate the system will recognize the esn and pass it as 911 gps compliant. If you buy a phone from any outside source that is not a sanctioned Verizon model then the esn ...
