Mobile ESPN

Looks like Mobile ESPN has decided to go with Verizon ..

http://mobile.espn.go.com/ »

I can't seem to get many details from either Verizon or Mobile ESPN. I have been a Mobile ESPN subscriber from the git go, and I have loved it!! 😁 I hope that you don't have to live in a VCast area to get all the ESPN content. Seems that this would cut out alot of people, including me. Anybody with anymore information about this, please inform me. Thanks for your time.

hmmm.. I wonder how many people were affected by this? Did ESPN Mobile managed to get more than 50,000 customers?

Not sure how many customers they had. But I was just hoping some Verizon employees would fill me in on the details. I called them, and of course they acted like I was stupid for asking 🙄

Nobody seems to know how much the ESPN content costs per month, if you have to be in a VCast area, is the V3m the only phone that works with the ESPN content, etc, etc

its just more content for Vcast video

yes you need to be in an EVDO coverage area
it is 15$ a month, free for the first month
no, any Vcast phone will be capable of getting the ESPN mobile content.

It looks like you will have to access the content thru V-Cast and Verizon will give you first month free, after that $15 a month. I have Mobile 2.0 for only $5 a month plus minutes and am satisfied by the amount of content you get from ESPN with just that. I personally would politely refuse the free phone they are offering and get a better one but that's just me.

So there is quite a bit of ESPN stuff on just the web, huh?? I am a sports nut, and the ESPN content on that phone was just awesome. I just wonder what I would be missing if I just get the mobile web? I am sure that I can set up alerts somewhere, so that shouldn't be to big an issue. The whole fantasy thing on the phone was awesome as well. I just hate to jump in a contract if I can't get all my sports info. I really didn't like the Razr as an option, kinda wanted to look a different phones. I can live without the video clips, as I didn't watch them that much anyway. I guess I need to do some more research.

I live in a rural area, Sprint is not the best choice for me. I wish it was. The Mobile ESPN phone was on the sprint service, and I could never really use it in my house, had to go out side and stand on one leg. I over looked this because of the ESPN content. I am right on the fringe of Sprint service, wish it was a better option for me! I know you can roam with sprint, but I think that the features don't work when you roam. I had to keep my ESPN phone on home only.

whatever 🙄 I don't know how well you read, but Mobile ESPN is switching to Verizon, and I think this is the right place for Verizon discussion.

Maybe you should think before you type!!!

no problem. What all do you want to be able to do with espn. you can watch clips with vcast. usually mobile web has enough info to get me by til I can really get online if thats what you need. It looks like they just recently added fantasy football on their. As of right now it only looks like football and no other sports for now. You can also get espn bottomline pro for $4.99 I just checked.

I can live without the video, vcast is not currently available in my area. They tell me it is comimg real soon though. Basically I just want the same stuff I was getting. Scoring alerts when needed, fantasy football/baseball, ESPN headlines, daily lines, etc. I wasn't aware of bottomline pro. Maybe I would be satisfied with the mobile web. ESPN had a good product there, but I realize that it is a niche market, and that it only appeals to sports nuts lime me! 🙂

I plan to go into a verizon store today or tomorrow and talk to somebody face to face. I have only had phone conversations with them, and sometimes I realize that this is not the best way to get information.

Is the bottomline pro a one time fee, or 4.99 a month? Even if...
