I received positive help from a Verizon manager with one of my many problems I had with Verizon. I just don't know what happened to everyone else.

well what happened to this phone? did you smash the charge port? water damage? there has to be a reason why they wont give you another phone.. not just because youve had too many and they dont feel like it. verizons replacement policys are very giving and people only get mad when they arent allowed to receive replacements if their phone is truly damaged (water, excessive damage, etc)

take it to another store.. dont base your whole experience on just one stores decision. Ive had customers that have been in other verizon stores and have had horrible times and come to mine and were so grateful for good service.

Oh yeah, Crazy... when is AR gonna realize that when he loses talent he has to replace it????

Also who the heck decided it was going to be a good idea to schedule a MARATHON during an Eagles game and closing down Broad????

Actually the Eagles have been good at replacing people. Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor were replaced with Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard. Mike Patterson replaced (now gone from Indy) (what was that lineman's name?!?!) Anyway. They have. I still believe we need to address the linebacking corp and defensive line run stopping schemes. We know how to get to the qb and stop the qb...but my gosh when are we ever...ever going to stop the run. We haven't in years. Now it is killing us. Without McNabb we need to be 1)able to run the ball (which we showed some of that lately) and 2) stop the run...yeah right!

Ah hah! Unfortunately even "accidental" damage caused by anyone or anything is not covered under warranty.

Case closed.

Wow ingenious CS, when you are asking people to listen to themselves while they are being "trolls", still don't understand why that is used but then again I am not a geek, do you ever stop to listen to see if that is what the Customer was wanting in an answer. Its not hard to believe someone at a store would treat him like that is it? I was treated that way with my treo, so what makes him any different? You can't account for every single person that works for Verizon, so how would you know the situation. This is the least helpful forum out of all of them. Though I do love the fights, you people are pathetic lol.

The 90 day warranty they told you may be correct. When you purchase a NEW phone, it comes with a standard 1 year warranty. However, if you're having problems with it and they send you a replacement, that changes. Each replacement phone only comes with either a standard 90 day warranty or the remainder of your original warranty. If you're past the one year warranty of the original purchase, then the last phone you got would have just had the 90 days from the day you got it. You should have asked them for a different model. I work for an indirect location, and any time I have a customer coming back in with warranty replacements that are all having the same issues, I always ask the folks at tech support to switch the models. As long as I...

I've never seen a FRU that was water damaged either, but I have had some that just flat out didn't work. Weirdest thing I ever had was one that came in and didn't have an ESN attached to it. When I went through the phone to do a manual program, it was saying the ESN was just zeros. Even the tech I called was confused.

oudidntkn0w

Nov 22, 2006, 3:19 PM
yes they are some out there that just dont work, thats why they throw a 90 day warranty on them.. if the esn was all zeros i bet the s/w update they tried on it probably failed.

I hate to tell you this, but they are both correct. Your orignal phone carried a 1 year manufacturer's warranty, but the FRU you replaced it with only carries a 90 day warranty.

oudidntkn0w

Nov 22, 2006, 1:22 AM
if its in the 1 yr warranty, it carries over the remainder of the 1yr on the replacement phone, and adds a 90 warranty on it. If the 90 days is still within the 1 yr, its really nothing important. if your one day from the end of the 1 yr, and have your phone replaced.. then you have 90 days added on..
...
adilus

Nov 22, 2006, 10:35 AM
You are wrong. They aren't going to give you an extra 90 days on top of the remainder of your existing warranty on a reconditioned unit.

How am i wrong when i work in the damn store as a tech and know how to check for warranties on peoples phone. The dont keep racking on 90 days on the end of the 1 yr each replacement. each time you get a replacement you get a 90 day warranty from the day of replacement reguardless of where it is in the 1 yr warranty.
...
cilvzwagent

Nov 22, 2006, 3:19 PM
No YOU are wrong. You get either 90 days or the remainder of your original 1 yr warranty from initial date of purchase, whichever is greater. Don't believe me? Call Tier 2 Tech Support and ask!

Your warrenty is 1 yr from the orignal purchase date of the phone. You could have as many replacements phones needed within the 1 yr warrenty. The ninty warrenty on the replacement phone but either way you will get your phone replaced as long as there isnt any physical damage or water.
