You will have to excuse that person, Verizon People are very touchy.

no, he just didn't want a huge war. VZW vs. Cing arguments are always long and dumb.

whoa easy there buddy, just a discussion, no need to get touchy, no need to get angry. Just show a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

He was being civil. But realistically, these discussions only get nastier the longer they go. It's a waste of everyone's time. In the end, they're both really good and it's up to the individual to decide.

I work for VZW. I love my company and my service. We have our benefits and flaws, so does Cingular. I think in the end, it's better to end it sooner than later, though it's obviously too late in this case.

Saying GO AWAY is not being civil, and yes the topic is mentioned once again, and people have repsonded once again still making it a viable topic.

Not to mention I don't see this talk that much in the other major carrier forums.

Touchy?? I'd have to agree but maybe should say it as I saw it...that was downright rude. Why are VZW people like that?? hrm??
...

Oct 24, 2006, 7:38 AM
Well its only understandable. In the other major carrier forums, you don't have as much of customers questioning the carrier...some would say that they are just picking on a company, others would say progress needs to be made, and things need to be changed.

Shut the **** up schlittertex! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ You know how the carrier vs carrier thing goes, it's a drawn out process that is boring and stupid. ๐Ÿ™„ Don't blame it on verizon people. ๐Ÿ˜‰

...
schlittertex

Oct 23, 2006, 3:52 PM
Well depending on your area, when I had cingular I always had a signal, I can't get one in my house with Verizon, but I can with T-Mobile. So it all depends on your area.

Full heartedly agree, I plan on making a non biased site strictly to allow people to compare before they buy.

That way they get the best service for them, and among that the best value of service as well. MobileDIA www.mobiledia.com seems to be a good one and a start for my research...along with Side-By-Side-By-Side Coverage map comparisons using the home coverage as my main base.

Dunno if I will start..or even finish it.

I recently just got married and my wife and I need to get our own service, we will be doing a fair amount of traveling (states) and was hoping to get some advice, I can see now that is not going to happen.

Just do your research first, talk to people who live and travel in the same areas you do, the reason I got so pissed is that this question doesnt have a simple answer, to some people VZW is the best, to others Cingy is better, and yet to other people Nextel or TMob is better.

This is one of those questions that pops up almost daily and all it does is entice people to argue for their employeer, kinda like "my dad can kick your dads ass" thing

*nods* Yes..I should conform to my plan...a non biased site to compare coverage/plans/ect.

Forums like this tend to become biased because of the differing veiws of so many ppl conflicting each other. It becomes a cofusion for a new customer looking into service.

Something more straightfoward, as factaul, unbiased and hoest as it can get is a must. I will start this site tonight then.

If you guys are planning on doing a pretty fair amount of traveling like you stated, I would definetly go with Verizon, they do have the largest coverage area and most towers. Check out coverages maps for both though and compare them and also compare them to the places you think you wil be going.

Both of your statements are incorrect.

Cingular has the most towers, and I'm pretty sure Sprint has the largest coverage area (incluing analog and roaming agreements).

If you're going to participate in giving somebody information, at least try to make it the correct information.

Well, in some respect it is true. What about Bluetooth's OBEX? VZW doesn't want to enable it to push suscribers to pay for their content. And if you lose said content or get a new phone, you have to pay to get it again. The Backup doesnt store ringtones, vids, or music.

Like the service, don't like this lovely money-making scheme. That's all he really had to say about it.

I love how Cingular claims more people choose them over any other carrier. Anyone want to tell me when the last time they added more customers than VZW was? (exactly) And no I don't consider buying out another company people choosing their service.

Customers choosing a company would be gross adds, not net adds.

And surely enough, every quarter Cingular adds more new customers than any other carrier. It's in the 4.5 million area every single quarter. Look it up, it's there...

So you act rude to a brand new member with a legit question and instead of taking the opportunity to share the benefits of verizon, you tell him to go away. And now you are so pathetic you have to post another post about how you think you are right ๐Ÿ™„ You're an idiot

not one of those were an objective answer, go ask the same question in the T Mob forum, Sprint form, or heck, even Tracphone forum and you will get answers that say they are the best, it is a pointless post.

It seems as though all the fighting was about whether or not the guy should have asked his question. ๐Ÿ™„ Have you ever read Sidways Stories from WaySide School? There's a story about a grumpy little girl named Kathy that doesn't like anyone. She says it's because no one likes her, and she spends all day being mean to everyone and then at the end of the day she's right that nobody likes her. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

It would have been nice if someone would have just answered the person in a prompt, factual way. Instead most of you, not all though, took the time to read what people said, and instead of inform, go on mindlessly about how many times this topic is brought up. So what if you are sick of hearing it. Its not a forum to sit around and praise the almighty VZW, this is where people come to get advice on plans and phones, and the guy actually had a legitimate question. Not everyone knows the difference between GSM and CDMA, or OBEX, so instead of informing, you just bashed the question like a bunch of 4th Graders picking on the obese kid. I am assuming most of you all are adults, so why not grow up and act like one.

After reading most of these posts I'm seeing that nobody is really helping you in this matter, my advice is to just try them both out u get 14 days to decide if u really want to stick with it or not, the service u keep will basically depend on ur personal preference of features and plans, and which has the most coverage in ur area, I personally have had experience with tmobile nextel, sprint, cingular, and verizon and for me personally verizon is the best service i've had in my area which is delaware, some people complain about the ui on verizon phones, it doesn't bother me but it may bother so its all about ur personal preference and which carrier has the best coverage in ur area, so try em both out u have 14 days to see which u like better...

What I liked about verizon most was its great customer service, when I had a problem with my phone I was in & out of the store in ten minutes. They would take the battery door off check for water damage and if there was none give me another unit and I was on my way. They do have a very good stable network, and most people are very happy with them.

What most people care about it making calls and verizon does that very well, I'm a cell geek so I didn't appreciate verizon jacking over my phone with the standardized UI, and dumb down crippled features. I took my money and went to Sprint where I'm very happy. Good luck to you

i got to admit this thread is getting old, most customers just rely on their phone for their basic needs to make or receive calls, a lot of customers basically dont care about the user interface, but about how reliable their service is. for some people Cingular works great, for others T-mobile , and for others Sprint. each customer has their own preference, like i tell my customers, wheerever works better for you, go with it
