Amazon Cell phones - is it for real?

Wireless Buddy

Oct 20, 2006, 8:49 PM
I was looking on Amazon.com today and I clicked on Cell Phones and Service. Is this a rip? I see a 700w for $180! Therefore, I have a few questions. Your response is greatly appreciated.

1) How can Amazon sell these phones for so much less than VZW?

2) Can I add a line to an existing Family plan through Amazon?

3) What is Amazon's return policy for defective phones? Is it worth the extra $ to buy from VZW and get a rep who can actually help?

---
And a slightly unrelated question:
since the price is so low for the 700 series on Amazon, how is the 700w vs. the 700p vs. the Motorola Q?

1. because they get paid 300-500 for the line you add on and if you cancel they charge you 250 plus the equipment retail price of 619.99 so close to $1,000 if you cancel
2. you might be able to but i don't think so i think they only want BRAND NEW ACT.
3.15 days from the date you recieved the phone, and yes it is really worth going into a store and ask and real rep who knows his PDA's the difference

Saving money is a great thing to do, but while your at it, why not give your money to a more-deserving company such as Walmart? Stick with directs and indirects...

Assk a walmart rep a question about any ph. and you get that look. I know this may be sad but sometimes when my fiance and I are grocery shopping I get bored and actually go ask the reps questions it's really alot of fun, They never seem to have the right answer! You should really try it sometime!

wish I could, but they know me over there. I pass by the station and they stare me down. LOL. I always say, "Don't worry...if Wal-Mart quits selling cell phones you can always go back to stocking dog food."

You could be a real ass like the other 10% and spend an hour in store with a rep and go over the benefits of this phone rather than that. Then leave and purchase the device on line for discounted price and when you have questions or issues with the device go to your local location on take up more of the reps valuable time. Giving him the wonderful opportunity of missing legitament sales the fuel his income allowing him to stand there and support you. While your at it go to expencive resturants, revieve excellent service, order over $300 dollars worth of food and not tip! Reward all that quality excellent service with a BIG **** YOU!!!!

Get the i730. It is a MUCH better phone than ANYTHING else Verizon offers (pertaining to PDA phones).

Check out http://www.pdaphonehome.com/ , and ask them.

I guarantee they will all pretty much say "get the i730."

The i730 doesn't have a camera though. If it had a camera, I'd def. get it.

How? The top post said he needed a PDA phone...I recommended him one.

And cameras in phones are retarded...I don't spend $1300 on a DSLR just to have to pay extra money for one in my phone.
