How many of you think the G'zOne will be exponentially popular? Will you recommend it to your customers? Do you think many will find it unappealing and naturally steer away from it, if so why. Give me your thoughts 🙂

Most of that I'll determine by what factory it comes out of... UTstarCRAP or Pander-tech is an instant no. 😛
We'll see how expensive it is and how it stacks up against the VX-8300... :-/

I have not done any homework about UTStarcom so I don't know anything about the quality of phones they manufacture, and take reviews with a grain of salt. Can anyone shed some light?

Audiovox 8910... 'nuff said...
...
haven't really heard any complaints about the pn-215.
...
ive had several come back with poor reception
...
I sold the Nokia 6315 to someone because that was the only phone that would work at her house. Check my post on the nokia 6315 forum...

Hey, where do you get most of your phones from? Im kinda fed up with VZW screwing us around on the price we pay for them, then they run a BOGO or some special we cant touch, for instance the Chocolate fir $199 before rebate, we are getting crushed on that price.
...
yeah...I won't talk about it on here...but you can e-mail me at my user name at yahoo.com
...
Brightstar, but then again we do move over 6,000 phones a month company wide...
...
Yeah let's judge a global company by one entry level product.

🤣 🤣 🤣
...
so camera phones are entry level...hmmm ok then how about the 8945, i have had a lot of complaints on that one as well. It is not like this massive global company has a ton of verizon phones for us to compare here.
...
It all depends on how they market it, or if they do at all. If I was Verizon I would sell the phone for $99 after a $50 rebate. And they should launch a massive advertising campaign.
As long as I thought the phone was good quality I would HEAVILY reccomend it.

im getting me one gunny it will be so nice to have a fone like that, i think it will appeal to many outdoor enthusiast and probably construction Joe too. its going to be awesome!
...
i've been wanting a milspec phone since cellphones first were available as breiefcase units that were 3 watts and you carried the thing in a shoulder bag. so for folks like me the answer is yes. these seems to be less of a gee-gaws phone, for instance doesn't bave bluteeth.. so it may appeal less to the chocolate gobbling crowd..
hard to say...
supposedly very popular with the japanese..
my question as a owner of a tri-mode lg vx3200 which is a very basic but get-the-job-done phone is will i have to pick up a more expensive product plan..

No, you will be able to use your current plan 🙂
...
you don't have to purchase the plans for txt/pix/flix. You can just choose to pay per use. Just like you probably pay per use for text messaging.
I know phones like the blackberry you have to purchase a dataplan because of it's feature that constantly checks for e-mails.
But on that phone...no, you don't.

Poor Gunny!! Can't stop thinking about this phone! ☹️

Whatever 🤣 you are just as bad of a phone junkie as I am, anyways I've been waiting a very long time for this phone, and it will serve me well with my upcoming winter hiking trips. I'm so sick of these cheesy Mp3 phones, I just need a practical durable phone that can withstand a frigin rain drop. Yes I'm excited for it 😁
...
price will have the final say. If they price it right they will fly out the door so we will waite and see.
...
obviously it will depend on the quality of the phone. There is certainly a nitche for this product. However I do think it will be expensive $300+ and that will singlehandedly kill popularity. Its a large phone by todays standards and it doesn't have bluetooth. I think they should have left Vcast at home and brought BT along as it is a more useful feature for most. Also putting a 2 megapixle camera into it is questionable. Most of the guys I hear asking for a durable phone want no frills, so why add vcast and a better camera than most of the other phones is a little silly.
however, if it performs well, I believe it will be very popular once the price comes down.
...
i dont think bluetooth is as nearly as popular as you think, i seldom ever see anyone using a bluetooth headset... yes there are many on this site that bluetooth is a must but the majority of the population is not using it. but most everyone still wants a camera its a good move i think,
...
I agree most people still want a camera, I just don't know why they chose this one to put a 2.0 mp. The cost was going to be high enough without that.
as far as bluetooth, I would agree that a majority of people don't use it; however I would say that when I sell an accessory bundle, about 1/3 of the time it is bluetooth. It isn't that much of a cost increase anymore so more people are taking the plunge. And if your state or county has a headset law, its a lot more practical to by one.
...
whats the point of selling a Bluetooth head set with it if it won't be waterproof too, that might be their logic.
...
This will be a quality phone. It's hard to put this phone into one section. Yes it's in the niche that Sprint/Nextel has always dominated; but at the same time I think VZW is trying to push this phone as more than one thing which may not be a good thing (we all know what happens when you try to introduce a product as many different things).
You don't see many durable/rugged phones on Sprint's service with Bluetooth so I understand why it's not a feature but if adding VCast Video (oops did I mention somthing?), why not add BT? Another ~$8.00 is not much...
...
i think its gonna be popular among certain crowds.
truckers, hunters, hikers, ruffneck gangsters, etc.... 🤣

I think the customer is going to be great to position against Nextel. I sell to businesses and besides "I have to have PTT because everyone else does" the lack of ruggedized handset is the most common objection I get.
...
dunno about the nextel thing.. have nextel. i build houses. i have to have nextel for subs and such. i also have a verizon for my computer biz and the coverage.
nextel walkie-talkie with groups and such is someting no one else has access too. if it wasn't for that i would drop my nextel in a heartbeat becaue their coverage sucks.
