I'm really pissed off now

gunny

Sep 19, 2006, 10:51 AM
I was using my phone this morning while showering and the damn thing quit working, I don't have time for this crap I use my phone for business and time is money!! When is verizon going to get its act together and offer a phone that can hold up to everyday activities, I don't think I'm asking to much here. I have been a customer for ten years and pay my bill each month, I'm going down to the corp store this morning and those morons best make it right. All I need is a waterproof phone geez ๐Ÿ˜

Can you go swimming with this thing? You know, at this point in age we are not to miss a phone call. Not even under water!

It says on the Casio G'oZone site that it can withstand 1m deep water for 30 minutes, I wouldn't swim with it, or keep it in the shower, but it should take the occasional dunk, or splash with no problems.

a quick fix is strapping the phone to your ear with a pair of tighty whities on your head then putting a ziploc over your head and making it as tight of a seal as possible ๐Ÿ™‚ plus it would be a funny pic in the paper the next morning. ๐Ÿคฃ

I'm asking the questions around here pal ๐Ÿ˜‰ , when will verizon offer a phone that won't be destroyed by a rain drop?? ๐Ÿคฃ

Do you think insurance on the G'zOne will be any different than any other phone? Will they put the stupid watermark sticker on it?

๐Ÿคฃ I guess whenever the manufacturers make one. my 815 had a sticker on it that was red for 6 months never had a problem with it ๐Ÿ™‚ I don't guess the G will have a water sticker if its waterproof. no need since no water can get in there ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have my reservations about the waterproof thing that I have said before but we will see.....

Wait a minute....how can you be working for the Evil Empire when I already work for the Evil Empire? And I don't work for Verizon?

Could there be 2 EVIL Empires??

Anyway, I was cleaning our my septic tank today and while completely immersed, I had to call and order lunch. The phone completely stopped working.
What kind of crap is that? (serious play on words there....).

if there are two then who are they fighting? and why are they both evil? hmmm k well anyways that is absurd that the phone quit working. it must be a defect. what you should do is bring the phone in to a cust service rep hand it to them then tell them where it has been. they will prob drop it and say since the rep dropped it they should cover it. ๐Ÿคฃ

Hey Gunny,
I happen to agree with you.
You probably didn't get the thing wet, just had it in the humid environment.
WTFO? Why call it a mobile phone if you have to sit in a hermetically sealed environment or it will fail?
Basically, a phone should work in an environment that a watch works in, excluding diving watches.
Heck, the phones these days don't even have o rings to keep dust out.

Hi Jeff

My post was just me be silly because I'm super excited about this up coming verizon phone.

ITS WATERPROOF!!!! ๐Ÿคฃ

https://www.phonescoop.com/articles/ctia_2006_fall/i ... »

It has 2.0 cam and evdo, no bluletooth tho so that might be a deal breaker for you and your biking trips, but certainly a step in the right direction towards making a durable phone.

What do you think about it?

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but gunny i know you bought the phone from verizon wireless, but don't lose faith in the company.

A. VZW does not make the phones, any phones
B. VZW does not make a dime off of any phones you purchase at the store.
C. VZW sells it's network, not the phones.

So if you are upset, thats fine, but maybe try contacting the company responsible for that phone and not able to be used when showering ๐Ÿ™‚
have a good day

Well instead of laughing and saying are you serious, tell me on which one I am wrong on?

Maybe we make a certain profit on a phone on the advertising we do for the carrier, but we make more of a profit on our netowork then we do by selling a nokia phone ? or am i wrong?

do we make any phones?

and do we not pride ourselves more in our network then if a phone will work while your using it in the shower?

if i am wrong, please by all means let me know ๐Ÿ™‚ take care

The phones do hold up to everyday activities. There aren't many people that would use the phone while taking a shower. Truthfully, it's almost as if you were trying to ruin your phone. As long as you're relatively careful with it (and I don't necessarily mean scratch free or anything) and keep out of places like showers where the water will definitely ruin it, you would have been fine.

You obviously knew that the phone shouldn't have been in water to begin with as you knew it wasn't water proof and you're looking for a phone that is...so...why didn't you just try and take good care of it to begin with instead of whining about a broken phone that was your fault to begin with?

Speaking of morons...I'm responding to one right now.

I've never been in sales and never be in sales. So - don't pretend to know who I am. Oh, one more thing - I'm smarter than you ever will be. If you think that taking a cell phone into a shower with you is normal, than you really have some things to learn.

You know, there is another solution. How 'bout a bluetooth speaker for your phone. Then all you would have to worry about replacing would be the bluetooth which should be less than the replacement cost for your phone. Plus you should be able to just hit a button and complete your call, not have to pull it into the shower with you.
