I called Verizon today and then said I can get the Q for $314, 25% off of full retail with two year contract. My first question is if I should wait til November 12 to get a phone. Or should I get a Q now. One of our stores rep said that the Q in Black will be out this month. Should I wait for the Black Q?? Also I heard the 9900 is cool but I dont like to open the phone for QWERTY I just want it right there. Thanks!

What are you going to use the phone for? If you need a PDA, you are going to need a Data plan of $44.99 Unlim or $24.99 for 10 MB just to connect to Web/E-mail on top of your voice plan. If you need a phone that Look's cool... then don't get the Q if you are not going to use it's functions. The 9900 can access your E-mail (Yahoo, AOL, MSN) for as low as $5 a month. If you need it for TXT msg, then get the 9900 too. But if you need to access Word, Powerpoint, Internet Explorer, and outlook all the time... then get a PDA.

The Q is an absolute piece of crap. I dont know if the new s/w update makes it any better, but I think its an awful device. get a full pda if you want data access.

trust me on this one I work in a vzw tech support call center and I would never buy or recommend someone to buy a Q. I get calls all the time with people having so many problems with the darn thing. Like what was said before what are you going to be using the phone for? i f you want it to be anything data related or run a office product you cannot go wrng with a xv6700 heck I am writing this from one now. If you can wait we have three new windows mobile based phones coming out in the near future. The pantech 820 on the 9th of this month it is very much like the Q but in a flip phone form and the other two are code named Titan out on Dec 15th and the Libra out on Nov 15th will both be by UT Starcom who also make the 6700.

sorry I meant the 29th for the pantech 820 release not the 9th. Also the update for the Q fixes a few bugs and has some updates but we have seen other problems that it create like customers not being able to *228 after the update. So there might be another update in the future for that over priced paper weight.

I have had my q for a while now and I have not had any problems. I love it. I don't want to carry a brick nor do I want a pda that the phone sux on. so the q is the best choice. it has the best sound quality in a smartphone/pda by far... plus I use it for my email and stuff which it does great at. I have not had one customer complain about the q. however it all depends on if it will do what you need it to. and the black they were talking about is like charcoal. its what the q was originally pictured as looking like before they decided on silver. I actually liked it better darker. just my opinion. 🙂
