Get the i730 or wait?
Basically, I need a new pda phone that runs Windows Mobile 5 (Or Pocket PC 5, or whatever).
So what do you all think? Should I just bite the bullet and get the i730, or wait for bigger and better stuff from Verizon?
(I am really split on the issue, I can't decide.)
The main reason I am asking is because a few people have told me that the i730 is old gen and that it has even dropped out of production by Samsung!
Really, I just want opinions and/or votes.
Yes = Get the i730 now.
No = Wait, better tech will come out soon (probably).
Thanks. 🙂
I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the PDA , but if you want to push email and PIM from MS Exchange 2003 with SP2 you would want a Windows Mobile 5.0 device.
I sell PDA devices to business customers and the feedback on the Treo 700w and VX 6700 is pretty good. Not to mention last time I checked the Samsung i730 was a little more expensive.
I just don't like how the 6700 is set up...And, the Treo costs more.
Not to mention you can easily upgrade the i730 to WM5.
I need it for a support program called "Kayako," and possibly email. But I don't need ultra-instant email notification...
But, I thank you all for your opinions. 🙂
By the way, is the unlimited data plan a 1 year or 2 year commitment?
Thanks again! 🙂
You are not committed to 1 or 2 years with the data package. You can change the data feature at anytime.
And, my brother has the i730. They haven't released the WM5 for the i830 yet.
Thanks. 🙂
So, with my N2, I get a whooping $200 discount! 🙂
I just want to go to Verizon and compare the i730 and Treo 700w.
Now, what's all this talk about the 700wx?
Thanks. 🙂
Getting a new phone HAS to be such an ordeal, doesn't it?
I am pretty sure you can use the NE2 and the other one...
I seriously doubt they would inhibit you like that...
It also doesn't make sense.
So, I use the $100 NE2 discount on one phone, and the $100 data on another phone? (My account has two numbers.)
Either way Verizon is "out" $200...
(And when I was talking to a rep in store about using the NE2 discount and how to get the other $100, all they said was that I had to get the data plan, no objections)...
I'll call Verizon tomorrow. 🙄
