I haven't seen the commercial on TV at home, but have seen it air on the TV's at Wal-mart though. I don't care for the commercial, like most commercials in general on TV.

The funniest thing about the VZW/Wal-Mart thing in our town anyway is that your VZW phone will NOT work in the store. The only time I even get 1 or 2 bars is when I am at the very front of the store checking out. I wonder if this is true in other markets.

When our walmart moved VZW put up a tower specifically to address that issue, plus improve coverage on the interstate too... lol.

It's the same way at my local walmart in central illinois, and also at the super center 30-45 mins away. Must be hard to OTA those phones in such low service. I bet they'll sell like wildfire in the low service buildings... I can see it already "Activation in progress, call failed"

At my Wal-Mart here in the Pacific Northwest I wanted to know what the full retail prices are. So I'll be sending customers to Wal-Mart for full retail phone purchases.
PN-210 $69.99
PN-215 $79.99
LG5200 $99.99
They are Inpulse phones but they can buy it and have it activated on their post-pay accounts so why not.

Incorrect. VZW is loading the ESN's into a prepaid database. I have already ran into this. Customer brings in phone. I try to enter an ESN change into EROES and I get, "ESN must be activated on a prepaid plan". It will not allow the ESN to be used on a postpaid plan.

However, since the only difference between a prepaid handset and a postpaid handset is that ESN is loaded into different databases...it really shows how VZW is hosing the dealers. Come on...why would one phone cost 50 bucks more then another when VZW says they are selling the phones to the dealers "at cost". RIGHT!!! 🙄

WRONG! Maybe not in Eroes, but its not a problem for Vision. So they could always call customer service if you don't have Vison. I've done it at least half a dozen times already.

not wise, the phones are seperated for a reason, the data settings in these phones are different when it comes to mobile web and gin. Not sure what if any billing issues this may cause but You are not supposed to do this even if you can do it.

Still no explanation as to why a prepaid phone and a post paid phone can "cost" 50 bucks different...when they are the SAME phone.

As far as the ESN...I called tech support (at a retail store, not the 800 number) and they did do an ESN change for me. But they also said that this was changing. The change was already made in EROES and would soon be in all systems...

i have heard that impulse phones are the same as fru equipment, so basically refurbs. If that is true or not I don't know. But I was told they take a ton of Fru phones have them reflashed with the gin and web setup up for prepaid, repackage them and there you go. Now how much truth is in that statement I cannot verify, but that is what I heard and makes soem sense.

In the owner's manual it says the phone does have a one year manufacture's warranty. And I have had customers take their phones to the retail store and have them replaced...with a FRU through warranty.

yeah they can still waranty them. If you get a fru phone one month into your contract you can still get it fru'd again over the next 11 months. I do know though their are differences with the web and gin. If you remember there was a short time when we could not put any camera phones on prepaid. Before that their was a time when gin were not supposed to be on prepaid. I remember I had a customer with a 343 on prepaid and would download ringtones and games everyday and never pay a nickle for them. I really don't think they are brand spankin new that is the only reason i could think they are so cheap.

first off the commercial does suck. Second there might be multiple versions but form seeing the commercial he is not giving him a pat down. The retarded walmart guy was going to pick up the test dude to take him inside. Then the vzw guy says we can walk.
