All the information I have states you must be in the National Enhanced Service Area which is only in the US and you cannot use VZnavigator while roaming. Therefore it will not work in Canada. The other poster is correct about the minute usage. Only while it is initially downloading the map and trip information. If you go of course it will automatically reconfigure the trip and that process is airtime free.

the guy at the verizon wireless store told me it would work ANYWHERE In the country even where I couldn't get cellular service as long as I could see the GPS satellite as that is what it used!!!. I almost laughed my way out of the store!!!!

What a poor miss-informed individual. It only uses the gps satalites for the position then the rest is through the cell system, it even uses the cell system to triangulate your position if you are indoors or don't have a good view of the satalites.

so there is no extra fee for using this feature?? For example, I dont have unlimited internet usage or whatever. I have txt, flix and pix sending, but thats about it.

I would be able to use this for free and it would only cost me a few minutes of downloading the map or whatever? And where is this feature, in the tools menu?

my v3m is on its way...thanks for the info!

It uses your minutes, the feature is located in "Get It Now" and is $2.99 for 24 hours or $9.99 for a months use.

bahh, its so ridiculous. Internet, Navigator, txt messaging should all be free...they should just boost the initial price of the phone if it has the capability.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, but then you would have people complaining about the price of the phone becasue they never use those features.

The best way to put it is comparing it to any other service out there, home phone, television service, a car. You have the base package then all all the little extras on. Not everybody needs the same thing

yeah makes sense, and its a good point when you say people would be complaining about prices and that they dont use those features, but thats what you make different models for...you have low end models that do the basics, middle of the line with cameras and txt messaging...then top of the line with all the bells and whistles...

if they dont want to use the features, buy the basic phone, ya know?

instead what they do is come out with 4 different phones by the same company, for example motorola...and you have phones that basically offer the same features, but come in different shapes and sizes.

I understand your point, and its probably more logical, but I personally would prefer mine. Monthly charges are the worst, Id rather pay ext...

The $10 is not a recurring charge, if your just going to take a day trip just use the $2.99 feature, if your going on vacation and know your going to use it for more then 3 days then download the $9.99 version, that way you dont have to worry about if your "getting your moneys worth".

If your not going to travel for a few months then dont use it and you wont have any charges.

Are you sure about that. Cause the 9.99 says subscibtion and has been running on my demo phone for a couple months now. If you hit options on the app there is a "cancle subscibtion" option.

So it seems to be a monthly recurring fee and you would have to cancle it if you weren't going to use it for a few months.

Dont know then, I am under the impression it is good for 30 days at a time, even if its not you can cancel after the 30 days and not be billed $10 again. Then when you need it just re download it

Nope, subscription means you subscribe. You get charged 9.99 a month until you cancel.
