Sanyo PM8200
I beat the he** out of this and still works great. Cracked outside lcd(still works) and I got it soaked with water and no damage and everything works perfectly still. Heck I even destroyed my antenna and still full bars where I should.

I cant offer my opinion on the newer phones to HOW much I like it but I do think some of the newer ones are better than PM8200.

WHAT? Yours didn't break at the hinge? Yours didn't lag through menus? Yours didn't freeze up? Yours didn't have any charging problems? WOW, that was my second cell phone and it was the worse thing I ever had to deal with in the years I had Vzw.

LG TM510

First reasonably priced flip phone. Super quality. Great functionality. Would still use one if it was E911 compatable.

since i own so many i have to give more than 1 or 2:

my vzw selections are: the MOTO 120e for its durability (i had to buy a new charger every week 🙄 but hey thats moto's fault)
and now even though the UI is garb.....the lg 9800.

my t-mobile selections are: the motorola a630 the keyboard was on (im a big qwerty fan) but the phone was girly. (no offense)
and now the t-809 its pretty bad @$$ for a t-mobile.

my sprint selections are: the sanyo pm 8200. had the wild feature's sprint was droppin before i noticed the calls did too. there were only two bad thing about this phone 1) the battery life SUCKED! couldnt get through a whole day only making 2 calls before it died. and 2) after 5 minutes of usage or talk the keyboard got h...

and now the sanyo 7500 IT REALLY IS THEFT DETERRANT! you can stomp on this puppy and it takes the abuse!

I have the PM8200 and I have 2 other friends that had/have it. We have never had a battery issue, it lasts easly 3 days (with talking everyday) and it is 2 years old. Also our keyboards never got hot. Maybe you just had a bad one, or maybe my frien...

i think you got the luck of the bunch because i replaced it twice battery and all each time and even got the 8300.

the battery life on the 8300 is just as bad and the keypad as i hold it in my hand now after playing ms.pac for 5 minutes is getting freaking hot.

I agree with you on the 8260. I once dropped it out a third story window, onto a sidewalk. All I did was snap the housing back together, and used it for another year. Just a few scratches.

I've only used Verizon Wireless, so I've only used a toal of 4 phones. The overall best phone for me was the Samsung SCH-a650 for reception, and that it was tri-mode. The next best is my current phone, the Samsung SCH-a930. It was good reception, but this phone finds a few spots that it considers dead spots, while my Samsung SCH-a650 would work, on digital (not analog). The Kyocera 2235 had good reception, but the blue screen & keypad irritated me too much that I changed phones. The last phone was the Motorola 120c and I considered that phone S**t. That had the overall worst reception, easily went into analog while the Samsung SCH-a650 stayed on digital for most calls, and the antenna breaks too easily on it. If I wanted a thin phone,...

Dave,
I switched back to the 650 as it has readable type for texting and the phone book. It also has this little feature under menu 77, called whisper mode. The unpublished benefit is while your driving and road noise increases, the phone automatically raises the recieve audio to a level which you can hear, and it is louder than what you could manually raise it to. (plug in a headset go on a call and stand next the kitchen sink and run water-it provides the white noise to activate the ALC)
I lock out analog by going into the field service menu "menu 9*, 000000, and force mode, 3GCDMA." Stays until you change it. If you just select 'the CDMA only, it resets when you power off/on the phone.
I have a v325 which I like, but it doesn't have ...

I can still get a650's to "sell" (I give them away with a contract). I know ones that swear by that phone and come in because we can get that phone...it works in fringe areas where most don't.

Sanyo MM-8300. Don't know why. Maybe, because out of the umpteen million phones I've owned since '98 this is the most comfortable to the noggin.
