Samsung A990 Possible Release Date Clue!
I saw a couple pics of the A990 on engadgets website about a week ago and i was just looking at a copy of it i saved to my pc tonight when i noticed something interesting, well take a look for yourself.....

Take a look at the date on the external screen in blue & yellow in the second picture!
I guess we'll have to wait and see if the date shown has anything to do with the actual release date or not!

someone on HoFo mentioned it would be available online on July 6th. And in stores on the 24. But a lot of people say it will be released in September. Who Knows??

Did you see the price $349 w/ a two year contract? That's more than the price of the majority of Verizon's pda, smartphones, and blackberry's. I was really looking fwd to this phone but if it carries a $350 price tag I may wait for the lg vx9900

If the camera works well on this phone I'd probably pay $350. I'm sick of being out with friends, wanting to take a great picture, and only having my phone in my pocket. I've been waiting a long time for a phone camera this good to come out! 😁

Because I own a digital camera, and I never have it on me when I need it! The only thing that's always in my pocket is my phone. That's why _I'm_ willing to spend $$$ on a great camera phone. Though, I totally understand why others won't.

Doesn't mean anything. The Samsung SCH-a870 says April 24th on the front screen and it's not out yet!

Well to let you know.............The date might be correct. Infomanager, now shows "coming soon"!!!!!! That means, barring any problems, it should be out anytime between now and a month from now. 😎

Value is relative to different people and involves two variables: total amount of money the person has available, and the utility he/she derives from various spending options. If someone has a lot of money and/or they really want a great camera phone, they will be willing to spend that much money for the a990. "Who would be willing to spend that much money..." suggests that you're assuming most/all consumers have the same spending power and utility rankings that _you_ do. Such assumptions are very dangerous in marketing.
The a970 didn't sell well, but I'm guessing that was because the reviews for the camera were _terrible_.
