Dont they have the same coverage? I mean my two cents are they both work in major cities but sprint works in rural cities while verizon tends to be in larger cities.

I think you got that backwards. Or atleast have verizon confused with cingular.

You left me scratching my head. Sprint's coverage is terrible unless you have a plan that supports the roaming feature. Sprint doesn't have coverage in Wyoming at all, which is completely rural except for one city with a population of 400,000. So to say that Sprint works better in rural areas isn't only wrong, it's completely backwards.

It's been my experience that Verizon has the best coverage area. Sprint is an all PCS, all digital network. PCS towers are extremely expensive to build, and to top it off, their coverage is a smaller area.

Basically put, Verizon owns an extensive analog network. With that alone, Verizon wins.

For the record, I don't work for Verizon. I, in fact, work for another carrier.

No I'm not trying to start anything but get your opinons. Not trying to start a war. I currently have Sprint Generally happy but it seems that my friend gets clearer call quality. He has a E815 , I have a MM 7500 and the sound is muddy most of time. I do like Sprints data network, It seems to offer a little more stuff and available in more places. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Sprint's data is better. Sprint also doesn't have as many towers as Verizon does. As far as I know, the upper level data services (EV-DO and the like) don't work off of another carrier's tower. So for Verizon to have more towers (which they do) means that their data services work in more places. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Data is probably the only attribute that Sprint has the advantage.

I like the streaming music and tv .
Verizon only has clips, but i read that they might be offering something similar soon. Anybody else hear that ?

Verizon has streaming music, but it's not as good as the Sirius agreement that Sprint has. And the tv is clips. So if data is your concern, you'd probably be better off with Sprint. However, if you're more focused on call clarity or ... anything else, really...switching to Verizon would be a good idea.

Yeah, and Sprint will allow you to use slingbox with the unlimited data plan...vzw would terminate your account...

only if you consistantly went over the 10 gigs though right? thats atleast what I made of all that ****. I still don't think its fair. If it happens to enough people they should file a class action. But verizon is really good at wording the contracts so I'm not sure how far it would get.

since verizon started to drop service for people who abused the terms of service when they signed up for the unlimited data plans.

unlimited data for 59.99 is what they get! we do not charge them for data no matter how much they use but vzw has the right to terminate their service at any time just like cingular does if a customer is roaming all day and sprint etc etc. it is clearly stated in the terms of use that there is that limit and that slingbox and related apps is prohibited. the data throughput at the tower is not unlimited, so people watching their little shows are destroying dl speeds for the rest of the paying customers, i feel it is more then fair and if they need to use more data they have sprint, who apparently has the "most powerful network".

I have the E815, and I love it. A lot of people will complain about the charging port, but I'm convinced that this comes from the user being too hard on the charger/charging port. The LG 8300 just came out. It's similar in features to the E815, but it's still too new to know any of the recurring problems it may have. Honestly, it would be a matter of personal preference between the E815, LG 8100, LG 8300, Samsung a930, and LG 9800. They all have their pros and cons. I lean towards the 8100 and 8300 at the moment, but like I said...it's personal preference.

The E815 is great for clarity. If you need a good vibrate mode, though, you probably don't want this phone. I could HEAR my previous phone (a Nokia) vibrating in the other room. I can't even FEEL the E815 vibrating in my own pocket sometimes.

yeah...and no more "dime a minute lady".

True telemarketing story:

I had two roommates years ago. Phone rings. One (the crazy one) of my roommates answers the phone.

"yes, this is John Smith (can't remember the name) calling from Sprint."

Roommate: "sprint?"

JS: "Yes, you have heard of sprint right?"

Roommate: "Sure, isn't that when you run from one spot to another as quick as you can?"

JS: "No sir. Sprint...the phone company."

Roommate: "So that isn't what sprint means? Are you sure. I have a dictionary, we can look it up."

JS: "Yes. A sprint is when you run really fast..." (roommate interrupted him)

Roommate: "so, you are calling me because you want me to run really fast?"

JS: "no sir. I am callin...

yeah...he was always funny when it came to telemarketers.

Like.

LET ME TALK TO YOUR SURERVISOR

Then he would tell the supervisor that the rep was doing a really good job.

Then he would go back to harrassing the telemarketer when the supervisor would give them the phone call back...

As a former Sprint customer, I am very happy to be with Verizon. I was a customer before they merged with Nextel; which meant when I had a problem with my phone I had to drive 30-40 min. to get to a Sprint store. Also, they were terrible with billing, I had charges on my account that they couldn't explain to me. There was also no explaination on the bill, and they had the nerve to give me a hard time b/c I questioned it. If I'm being charged for something I want a detailed reason why. The phones were ok with Sprint, they weren't the greatest but they did their job. I was dissatisfied with the speakerphone on the phones. I had to yell into the phone for someone to hear me. They may have gotten better since then. I had phones from Sam...

1) Abysmal, disorganized customer service team. Although this can work in your favor occasionally, as I've seen them cave in to customers who were willing to stay on the phone long enough and give them rediculous, unwarranted bill credits. But most of the time, you're calling in because of some strange charge on your bill that they have to credit back.

2) The worst upgrade policy in the industry. Wait 12 months, and they'll allow you to renew for two more years and in turn give you a whopping $75 off a phone (minus the $36 'upgrade' fee of course, so $39 net). If you can manage to wait 24 months, you can renew for two years and get $150 off. Minus $36 fee for an automated system to change the ESN.
While Sprint touts that their...
