Speaker w/the flip closed......
Hi - sorry if this has been asked and answered already but besides the Moto 325 any phones current or upcoming with this feature?

the razr doesnt on vzw. but it is a moto thing. and some other allow it as long as the speaker is not shared with the earpiece. 🙂

What software version do you have? The one in my display case is V.A850.YG30 Just tried it again to to see..yep it works.

the same one.....v.a850.yG30. and when i turn the speaker on and close, it mutes the call then ends it about 4-5 seconds later. i think i'll stop by my local corp store to have it checked out. at the time when i bought it, (while employed with last retailer selling vzw) each of use used (4 folks) the a850 and none of ours did it except if we pluged the earbud in and then closed just like the lg 8100.

yeah, I would say it must be something wrong. Unless there is a setting in the phone itself. Let me know how you make out...

took it to my nearest corp store the tech in the store said mines had bummed software. the phone didnt even store the call timers. (i never noticed it tho..) he re-firmed it and 45 minutes later i was out the door.
i do now notice my camera doesnt freeze or frame when i turn it on and move the phone really fast. was this a fix also?
and my ringers are a tad louder not extremely but noticeable.

what phone is yours? With the E815, you can even press the speakerphone button and answer the call (press and hold) and press and hold and end the call...all without opening the flip. the LGVX 4650 can do this too. As the razr. The samsung a850 you have to have the flip open to answer and to end, but in the call you can flip it shut with the speaker on.

So looks like only the motos can be answered on speaker with the flip closed? can calls also be initiated that way? Any thoughts on which phone is better - 815/325?
By better I mean reception wise/holding a charge/speaker quality - don't need a lot of bells & whistles. Any idea if a new moto is coming out with this feature?

The 815 can start a call with the flip closed. The voice-dial button is on the side of the phone, press it and you can use all the voice commands.
