What Type???
Verizon Wireless is migrating toward All-Digital handsets and will have no Tri-Mode handsets available in the future. All-Digital phones have a slight performance improvement over Tri-Mode equipment, according to our Network Performance Analysis reports.
The VZW Network is CDMA Digital with some areas of PCS overlay. Areas that still support Analog are quickly disappearing. Use VZMap to determine what type of coverage is available throughout the network.

I require Features, and are generally only available on all digital phones.
I still have the Samsung 650, and it's still the smallest verizon phone I can find.
It's tri- mode, but going into the field service menu "menu 9* then 000 000" option 8"CDMA-3G"
gives me digital only. This stays until changed. The other option "CDMA only" gets reset when the powere is cycled.
This way I can avoid ever having analog on and killing my battery, but If I was in an area that had no digital coverage and absolutely needed coverage, I COULD get it. (Like in Florida when I go back there and drive from Orlando to Dunnellon)
Needs are very minimal, but there are a few miles here and there that if you broke down, you'd rather have the option.
