Do the other carriers have warrenty replacements?
Do the other guys have warranty replacements that they swap out for their customers? I see a lot of complaining about VZW testing of phones. I'm sure this is to help minimize the amount of warranty replacements that they have to make in the stores. Imagine if VZW did NOT have the warranty replacements available. You would have to send your phone to the manufacturer and wait 6-8 weeks for them to repair it.

yes other carriers will replace your phone if found defective, usually for a small fee of course

Verizon usually just swaps the phone without charging anything...unless you need to have the phone shipped to you instead of going to a store. Then you have to pay $10 for shipping.

Strange, at our store we never charge shipping. The only time we actually charge shipping is if you want Saturday delivery.

I don't live within 60 miles of a company store, so if I need to do a warranty replacement, I have to call CS and do it over the phone. I've never seen a customer that didn't get charged $10.

In the case of Cingular they will exchange your phone by mail for free. You must agree that they can charge you should the phone be out of warranty (water damage physical damage, etc.) since they send you a replacement before receiving the defective unit.
Takes about one day where our store is located so no need to pay for expedited shipping.
