Of the following, which of these quotes is the biggest lie-and which one actually effects you.

Verizon- "Please remember, as part of our Worry Free Guarantee if you ever have a problem, it becomes our problem the first time you contact us."
Cingular- More bars in more places.
Sprint- forget it we don't even need to talk about them.

Ok...I'm in Brooklyn, NY (no service); tried my sister in Metuchen, NJ (no service); tried my cousin in Chicago, IL (no service); tried my friend in Orlando, Fl (no service).
At this point I gave up. That is a good chunk of the northeast coast to not have service. They don't even have service in Manhattan according to their website. Everyone has service in Manhattan, wait a sec...not Alltel.

They say have service across the country with "America's Largest Network" but yet every zip code I can think of they dont have service.

thats cuz they use vzw towers in the bigger citys like a cheap whore so if you try well known zips they usually dont have their own spectrum and therefore dont want to sell to you if you will be on extended network all the time they dont gain money.

Then they shouldn't make the claim for the biggest network. Take away the roaming agrrements and the network will really be seen. Then again, that is with every network, including Verizon and I'm pretty sure Cingular.

well actually all carriers as far as i know include their roaming agreements in their network on the website but they will distinguish between for example, Verizon Wireless digital service area, and Extended Digital service area.
so you can tell what is company owned and what is Alltel or sprint etc.

well many bigger companies arent everywhere but by definition they arent a nationwide carrier let alone have the biggest network.

True, I think that they should update their coverage map for the country to show more roaming agreements then. When I look at where I live on the map of the country, according to them, I have actual Alltel service and shouldn't be roaming for Brooklyn, NY.

I know I am. I find it amazing that the big carriers (Cingular & Verizon) both have the bigggest networks but now Alltel says they have the biggest network.

yea roaming agreements def help but sometimes the companies cant agree on the metrics and contract so it doesnt work out and thats why some maps are smaller or some maps are bigger..
sprint and verizon are a powerhouse becuase they have the most spectrum, towers and roaming agreements between each other...
while tmobile and cingular are differnt. they arent as nearly as strong...
alltel is trying to do well against the bigger boys by focusing on their niche areas.. i dont think they have a chance against the bigger companies..

you are absolutely right, When I used them for my first phone, I was talking with customer service about dropped calls and my call got dropped.
