I will be going away to college soon and I will be needing a sophisticated phone. At the same time I want a cool phone with a lot of features. I am going to eligible for an early upgrade in April around the time of my birthday. Any suggestions for a sophisticated yet cool phone? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Inexpensive, loud, speakerphone, kool lil toys and lights, firm grip, nice buttons, old school, rock solid. The list goes on and on, lets narrow the list Gunny, wat (if any) are the BAD features of this phone?

I cant think of anything bad about this phone, i give this phone high marks for a mid level phone. You feel like you can rely on this phone right out of the box

It will help a lot if you told us what features you need a phone.

I really would like a mega-pixel camera, text keyboard, music player, and possibly an organizer. Thanks for the quick replies.

The V LG 9800

Experience the ultimate in mobile multimedia with The V. Stream, download and play video clips with V CAST, crank up the tunes with the MP3 player and stereo speakers. Shoot pix and flix and store them on an optional MiniSD™ external memory port. Talk about it easily and quickly, anywhere and anytime, with the QWERTY keyboard and Bluetooth® wireless technology

I'm not sure I would call this phone cool but certainly sounds like it would match your needs.

Yeah. I ahve been looking at this myself. I also have loked at the Treo 700w and the Utstarcom XV-6700. I wanted to get a fair idea from what the people had to say without giving too much information away. Thanks. I'll definately look further into this phone.

look at the user reviews and play with certain phones at a store...look at different feature sets, and just choose whats right for you. Utimately a phone must work for you, not anyone else on this forum. And if you are looking at smart phones, i would reccommend the 6700 over the treo, much better keyboard and I personally like the look of it a little better. But if you just need a basic calendar to keep track on when you have class or meetings, and other stuff like that, then I would probably go with the V. just my 2 cents.

LG VX9800 for sure. I did a lot of comparing and playing with similar featured phones and the 9800 is the best choice if you don't want a smart phone/PDA. I own this phone and I have to say it is the best phone I have ever owned. Bulkier than most phones, but you get over it and carry less stuff in your pockets.
