How can I learn which older models can still be activated?

I recently lost my fairly new LG Verizon phone. I had an old Kyocera lying around, and brought that in to a Verizon store to be activated, to avoid dropping the cash for a new phone. However, they said it didn't meet some new industry standard (E911? Something like that?), and so they couldn't activate it.

Since then I've been scouring ebay and craigslist, trying to find a decent deal on a phone. I've found a LG VX 6000 in the area I'd like to try and pick up. Is there a website or something I can check to make sure this model is recent enough to meet standards, and be activated?

Thanks so much for your help!

Yeah phones ahve to be E911 compliant, or GPS, which means if you call 911, they can track wher you are by your phone. Pretty much all phones made from 2002 are GPS complaint now. Also if they have the letters GPS on them they are obv GPS LOL. I have a list at work on my computer when I go in tomorrow I can post the entire list here if you want, or if you already got some extra phones u wanna try, post their names and modle numbers on here, and I will tell you which ones are good nd which ones are not. Your welcome.

Thanks! Right now, I'm looking just at the LG VX 6000. I see on this page:

it says it's got a "GPS/Location" feature, so I'm assuming it'll be okay.
