Battery

Something odd happened to me today. My battery just drained today from 3 to one bar in just 2 hrs, I made 3 calls not even 3 mins each, Could this had been cuz it was storming really badly outside? I kept checking my phone and it was raining so hard, that my phone kept fluctuating from full reception to only one bar of reception throughout the storm, at one point I had no service for about 5 minutes.

you may not have give it a full charge to start with; If you put your phone on the charger for 10 minutes it will probably indicate a full battery when you take it off; obviously 10 minutes won't give a full charge

what of phone do you have, does it have analog,or all digital.if it has analog, digital service may have went out and phone tried staying on analog.if so that would drain battery fast.but if you have all digital, then either something is wrong with phone or battery. i would take phone in and have it checked, unless you didnt leave phone on charger for at least 5 hours,if so that is your problem, battery not charged enough.

In response to the original question, the storm would have nothing to do with your battery. However, it *may* explain why you had signal issues. If you continue to have signal problems, you may want to have your phone checked.

In regards to the battery issue, I would recommend having it looked at. Even if it went into analog, you explained a very quick drain. Even when I had Alltel analog, I still had about 8 hours of life with "medium" usage. As explained in previous posts, an issue has been identified with *some* LG TM510 batteries. Is that the type of phone you have?

I been a vrz customer for the last few months, and I use a LG VX-6000.
But I would love to upgrade to the VX-8000. I know how vrz takes their time in releasing their "new phones". I know about the VX-7000, which I really don't care for.
My one year contract w/vrz is up in 1/2005, does anyone think that the VX-8000 will be available before my contract is up?
If the "VX-8000" comes out before my contract is up, I'll re-sign. Otherwise I'll be checking out other carriers that work well in central Fl. and L.I., N.Y.
Any info on this phone's release date would be welcomed, thank you for your time.

What should be a reason to leave a particular carrier is does the customer feel they cdan't get what they want from that carrier. You can only push the "superior coverage" crap so far. You need the whole package. Your "superior coverage" claim fails miserably here in Eastern MA, CT, and many other NE states. Then look at how far behind the times you are on phones and rate plans that benefit the customer, and you begin to get the picture...

Vrz is has good coverage here in Gainesville, Fl.(32614), but not great 3 miles east of here or 10 miles southwest of there.
But they do have very good coverage on Long Island, New York (11706).
As for me changing carriers, as long as the other 3 major "players" cover those two areas mentioned above I would be willing to switch.
The reason I only sign "1 year contracts" is so I can pick a better carrier if deemed necessary. I don't care if the phone service works in the "48 states". But it has to work in the two places mentioned above.
I welcome the competition for my money, and whoever has the best deals (and) caverage in those 2 places can have my 1 year contract.
Customer loyalty to one brand or company doesn't mean...

Therefore if Vrz keeps dragging there feet with their equipment, there are other carrier with better phones and almost just as good coverage.
Coverage is one thing. Quality of coverage is another thing altogether. Verizon is quite simply the most reliable network out there. Hands down. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Whereabouts in Central Florida, exactly? If you're in Orlando, fine...any GSM carrier...

I read some of the other answers to your question. If you had pretty bad inclement weather as you explained, couldn't it possibly be that your phone was using more power during the day to search for a usable signal? I dunno, just a thought.
