Battery
In regards to the battery issue, I would recommend having it looked at. Even if it went into analog, you explained a very quick drain. Even when I had Alltel analog, I still had about 8 hours of life with "medium" usage. As explained in previous posts, an issue has been identified with *some* LG TM510 batteries. Is that the type of phone you have?
But I would love to upgrade to the VX-8000. I know how vrz takes their time in releasing their "new phones". I know about the VX-7000, which I really don't care for.
My one year contract w/vrz is up in 1/2005, does anyone think that the VX-8000 will be available before my contract is up?
If the "VX-8000" comes out before my contract is up, I'll re-sign. Otherwise I'll be checking out other carriers that work well in central Fl. and L.I., N.Y.
Any info on this phone's release date would be welcomed, thank you for your time.

A particular phone shouldnt be reason to leave or stay with a carrier, network ...

But they do have very good coverage on Long Island, New York (11706).
As for me changing carriers, as long as the other 3 major "players" cover those two areas mentioned above I would be willing to switch.
The reason I only sign "1 year contracts" is so I can pick a better carrier if deemed necessary. I don't care if the phone service works in the "48 states". But it has to work in the two places mentioned above.
I welcome the competition for my money, and whoever has the best deals (and) caverage in those 2 places can have my 1 year contract.
Customer loyalty to one brand or company doesn't mean...

FoxFire said:Coverage is one thing. Quality of coverage is another thing altogether. Verizon is quite simply the most reliable network out there. Hands down. Don't let anyone tell you different.
Therefore if Vrz keeps dragging there feet with their equipment, there are other carrier with better phones and almost just as good coverage.

Something odd happened to me today. My battery just drained today from 3 to one bar in just 2 hrs, I made 3 calls not even 3 mins each, Could this had been cuz it was storming really badly outside? I kept checking my phone and it was raining so hard, that my phone kept fluctuating from full reception to only one bar of reception throughout the storm, at one point I had no service for about 5 minutes.
