New Every Two Change?

rory23

Has anyone noticed that Verizon has changed their New Every Two benefit? I just read on their website that as of 2/5/06, if your monthly plan is from 34.99 to 79.98, you will only get a $50 credit instead of the $100. Did I read that right?

That is correct however, it applies to new customers only!!! If you are currently a customer your NE2 is still $100

And I think that when you renew at NE2 time, they move you to the new NE2 deal. AFAIR, you are grandfathered in until you renew. I MAY BE WRONG

Until you make any changes to your contract... Also, did you notice any changes require a 10 year extension... Plus $500.00 contract change fee... Canceling before terms will cost not only your first born... But also your Dodge Charger and both bank accounts... I guess this is one way to have high customer retention...

I hope everyone is correct that existing customers, before the change in the NE2, are still entitled to the current up to $100 credit. If all I'm entitled to is up to $50, then I'll have to rethink what I might get for my next phone. I won't drop Verizon because of the change, but would have to scale back. I'm already saving up for my next phone, and my upgrade is July 1. My mom & sister have already upgraded, and both got their phones free because they were under $100. My mom got the Nokia 6256i when it first came to CC VZW locations and my sister got the Samsung a850. Both only had to pay for accessories. My sister insists on using the speakerphone and I find it a P.O.S., because I don't always hear her when she speaks. I've debate...

I forgot to mention that for those considering T-Mobile, all they give is up to $50 instant credit, regardless of calling plan or phone. I hear people complain that T-Mobile is cheap when it comes to the amount they give for instant credit. I know it's $50 because my co-worker decieded to upgrade his phone through T-Mobile instead of changing carrier, like he said he would. He upgraded online, and T-Mobile only does $50. Whether I get $50, $100, or get my phone free has yet to be seen since my upgrade is July 1. At least Verizon doesn't charge an upgrade fee like Cingular does.

T-Mo will give credit to anything that walks into their store...

-Hi, what's your name?
-Mr X.
-Now, since you have a name, you are approved for service, we can give you a free phone with 10000000 mins...

It does remind me of ATT. Shall I remind you what happen to them?

It's mainly been an authorized agent at Southlake Mall in Hobart Indiana, who will do anything to get a sale. This agent typically offers a basic Motorola flip phone for free to new subscribers. I already know where I travel, and where T-Mobile covers, and based on that, I would roam more than be on the network. Plus where they do cover, it's spotty. This is why I don't have T-Mobile. They were the first carrier I knocked out of my selection. But at that time, they were still called Voicestream. I looked at Sprint, Primeco (now US Cellular in the Chicago market, where my phone is registered at), & AT&T. I knocked out Cingular because at that time, they didn't cover LaPorte County & South Bend market in Indiana. Cingular dind't cover...

yes remind us 😕

if you begin to even state they were bought because the issued to many credits you are wrong.

they were bought for name sake. yes i agree they did give alot but none more than t-mobile. the most at&t handed anything out was during the merger/buyout.

They already do. I just upgraded my mom's phone this past Saturday. The first line on the receipt is a $15 upgrade fee. I was shocked and appalled.

And to answer the question about existing customers is--You will get the 100.00 NE2 credit when you are eligible if you were a verizon subscriber prior to Feb 5th. After your upgrade, the next time eligible (22mos if on a 2yr contract), depending on your Price Plan--34.99 to 79.98 gets 50.00 off promo price, 79.99 and higher gets 100.00 off promo price. If you go from a plan that is less then 79.99 to the 79.99 or higher plan must be on that plan for 3mos prior to your upgrade to get that 100.00 off. If you do it right before upgrading thinking you will only stay on that plan long enough to get the 100.00 credit, you are out of luck and only get the 50.00 credit. Must be on the higher plan for at least 3 mos prior to your upgrade date to...

Are you sure it was for upgrading? or was it for changing her mobile telephone number? or for maybe being reassigned from another bill level/or account? I found it hard to believe that it was for just a simple "upgrade". I have heard nothing, seen nothing, or haven't read any new policies for charging for upgrades. I do enough of them(upgrades) everyday, and read enough peoples bill's to know that it is not a charge we are doing in the Northeast nor any other region that I am aware of. Would really love to see that bill that says "upgrade fee--15.00, not calling you a liar but like I said haven't seen anything or any bills with that charge on them, so you must be the only one or is there anyone else out there that has been charged to upgr...

I have never heard of an upgrade fee or seen one.

The above poster is correct tho, the NE2 change will not have any affect on anyone untill december 5th of 2007 and after. if you are eligable for NE2 on june 12th 06 you will get your full 100$

You would then be eligable again on April 12th 08 and would at that point get either 50 or 100 depending on your plan.

Handset Changes*
Mobile Number Changes

* It is waived with NE2 discounts ONLY.

Sure...that's why we have the lowest churn rate of all the sales channels...

Oh, just like today. I had a customer who went into a vzw retail store and asked for help changing his ring tone. The rep told him to check his owners manual. Needless to say I got then sale today because I didn't just brush him off.

But the true stat is the fact that they indirect NON MASS MERCHANT channel has the lowest churn rate. That has to speak volumes...

they do charge the upgrade fee, but at least they give the same discount to all customers not just those that pay this amount or that amount... it all straight across the board... and its the same price for new and upgrading customers... more fair that way... so if you are on a 39.99 plan with Verizon and only get 50 off the upgrade phone, it's still less than you get if you upgrade with cingular and get 100.00 off +18 upgrade fee (82 dollars)

ya you get 82$ with cingular vs 50$ with Verizon(if you are on a low price plan) and with that 32 dollars comes tons of dropped calls on Cingulars Allover network, not to mention poor cutomer service.

sounds like a bargain

Your example is all well and good, but, you don't get any loyalty discount with Cingular for renewing your contract. You pay the same price as new customers. With NE2, renewing customers get phones cheaper than new ones. Upgrade fee or not. And Ver...
