8100 all the way. RZR no mp3's or mini SD - Video capture on the 8100 is 15 sec only 5 sec on Rzr. Outer screen on 8100 is bigger and clearer than Rzr. Plus the Rzr is fragile you'll end up replacing it 10 times. 8100 has Vcast music Rzr nothing. 8100 speakers (MP3's and speakephone) really loud and clear. Rzr not as loud pretty clear though. both have verizon UI but 8100 is a lot easier to use Moto still found a way to complicate the rzr menu.

hope this helps

Actually the video length for the razr can be increased. Through the options tab inside of my flix. Also The razr reception is a 100 times better than the 8100. Also the call clarity and voice volume on the razr are much louder. I have had both phones and believe stay away from the 8100. If you want a ph. with the features of the 8100 go for a samsung 950. Otherwise razr all the way!

i have an 8100,8000,moto815, and i have used the razor.
bluetooth works better on motos, just seems more clear to me
signal strnegth is about the same and i live in a poor covergae area
battery better on the 8100
dsiplay better on 8100
8100 has more features(mo3/mod servcice, expandable memory, ability to read text on outside display, flash on the camera(version 7 fixes the camera lag for the most part so it takes batter pix than the razor)
I ended up going back to my 8100 becasue the outside display is terrible on the razor and i actually use the expandable memory and my camera, didn't feel the phone part of the razor was that much better to sacrifice those features.I did however like the motos voice dialing better and the bluetooth...

This is a good NYTimes article about the RAZE's numerous short-comings. I hope VZW gets the Blade!

Actually, a decent article however please remeber that the article is reveiwing the CINGULAR Razr Not the Vzw alot of the things the writer says can't be done can be done on Vzw Razr. I beleive that this article should show us how lucky we to have Verizon and not Cingular!

Thanks for the info folks. I don't care at all about Music or VCast on my phone. Bluetooth and good signal are my primary concerns. Does anyone know if there are also similiar hacks available to get DUN to work on the RAZR as there are on the 8100? That is my last concern about the two phones. Aside from Bluetooth, I'd probably just stick with my old 6000 that does everything else I care about excelently.

WEll are you a new custoemr i take it, my undestanding was that pricing was not good for existing or upgrading custoemrs. If it was me i would go with the 8100, like i said though i use the camera, mp3 player, and removable memory. Take those otions out of the equation and lets talk phone features. Bluetooth works better on razor, battery and outside display(great for reading text) goes to the 8100. So what is more important to you, battery life? great outside display for viewing text? or bluetooth connection. I only use my bluetooth headset for the drive home, so the subpar quality is livable with my 8100, but if i was going to be using the bluetooth headset all day long and i didn't text message or use my camera I would have kept my razor....
