1-Can you use your mp3s or wma files that you stored on your external memory (flash cards, mini flash and etc..) as your ringtones with the lg8100, sch950, moto e815, v710?

2-If someone has done it, how did you do it?

3- will the new ota update affect the ability to do this if it was possible?

4- I like monterey jack cheese best...have you ever had that on a grilled cheese (or toasted cheese- thats how they say it in lima, ohio..

1) i know you can with the 8100 so im gussing you can with the 950 also. the 710 and 815 not clear.

2) check the phones forum and check the early threads and post i'v seen one in the 8100's forum and the 710's too i believe.

3) more than likely yeah. from what i hear after the ota mp2 update you wont be able to upload your own mp3's anymore. because the new music format will be wma. and the phones ringer set doesn't support wma.

easier way to transfer files to your phone for ringtones. Send the desired midi or mp3 to your own number as a picture message. when the message comes in, save the attatchment to the phone and you're set.

Exactly.
This question has been asked a few times on here of the VX8100 and I have answered it a few times because I have one with an SD card. You cannot assign MP3's as ringtons from the miniSD card.
This doesnt bother me that much as I dont need to listen to a 4 minute ringtone, or I would miss the call.
It's an MP3 player so basically thats what I use it for.. when im bored.
