my girlfriend has a LG tm-510 cell phone. she loves this phone for 4 reasons. 1: it has a RUBBER keypad. 2: it is a tri-mode. 3: it has caller id on the outside. 4: it is a flip phone. i found some LG tm-510's on Ebay. but when i called verizon customer service, the rep said we can not put another LG tm-510 on her account because the LG tm-510 does not have GPS capability and is not E911. does anyone in the forum know where i can get a different phone that has everything she wants on a phone and is GPS capable and E911? she and i wood sure appreciate any help we can get in finding her a phone. it can be a discontinued model too, as long as it has everything we are looking for. PLEASE HELP US.
thanx!

I know the older model LG4400 has rubber key pad, but non't sure about the LG4650, and definately not on the LG5200 or LG6100. Also not sure if the older LG4400 is GPS or not, but it's a nice phone and would be worth looking into.

4400 has gps, 4650 and 6100 have plastic keypad, 5200 is rubber, all models have good sized numbers so you should be able to dial 😁

Just call them to do an esn change and when they ask what model phone it is tell them a lg4400. I dont think they can tell the difference unless the phone has been registered in their system in that particular market. Not positive, but I dont think so.

Sorry dude, when you do an ESN change it auto-poulates the model of phone attached to that ESN. Trust me, there's no way around it. Non-E911 phones are no better than paperweights once they have been removed from their existing mobile number.

My sister tried to activate my old Kyocera 2235 to use until she was able to upgrade her phone, after she lost her Nokia phone, but was told it couldn't be activated, because it wasn't E911 compliant and didn't have GPS on it. Similar situation happened with a co-worker who has Nextel, tried to get an old bulky yellow Motorola Nextel phone activated, because her current Nextel phone doesn't work in the same places the old does, but same thing happened there, it isn't E911 compliant and doesn't have real time GPS on it, like her current phone does. I believe only GSM phones that aren't E911 compliant may have a chance to be used as long as they're unlocked, since all you have to do is swap the SIM card in those phones and you're on your way...

I was just able to activate my old StarTAC a month ago by doing it online. One just has to go through "My Account" online and they will be able to activate any phone they like.

VERY WRONG. You just got LUCKY. Any non-E911 phone that you try to change the ESN on through My Account will give you an error to call customer service. We will input the ESN and it populates the model of phone and will not allow it to be changed if not compliant. The only way you would have been able to activate the StarTAC is if the ESN was loaded into the database wrong that ESN registered a different model of phone from the StarTAC. This does happen from time to time, but not too frequently. This would have been the only way that you could have made that change online. Sorry...

sforsyth01: non compliant e911 gps phones are not supposed to be activated on line again once they are taken off. this is also on vzw web site.also just because you got lucky and got it activated using my account, doesnt mean much, other than it probably has it listed as wrong phone. also if you took it off again, you probably wouldnt get it activated again. vzw has been checking up on esn numbers in system and what isnt e911 compliant. but glad you was able to get the startac activated. but be careful about taking it off again.also those 5 reps you talked to either lied to you,or do not have an idea that system will not activate non compliant phones 99.9% of time. the .1% was you that got phone activated.good luck to any one else that can get ...

SF. The previous poster is correct. I have had the reverse happen. I have tried to activate a customer's phone and the system say that the phone isn't e911 even though it is. All I have to do is have the ESN loaded into the system as being e911 compliant. If it is indeed non e911 but going through then the ESN might be on the list accidently.

Thanks crazyeaglefan236!!! I appreciate the back-up. I only post on this forum when I see someone posting incorrect information that need to be corrected so other people are not under the false pretense of how the service works.

I don't post unless the information I am giving is 100% accurate.

It just gets real frustrating when someone who does not work for the company tries to tell you "the truth" when they have no clue themselves. I'm sorry if 5 other reps gave SF the wrong information, but I won't post to this site unless I am completely sure that my information is completely accurate.

Just because 5 people tell you one thing and 1 person tells you something else does not automatically make the 5 people right. Also, even the ...

my guess is the lg4400, if you are doing the whole ebay thing then that one will probably be the cheapest since it is an older model. I would also suggest you purchase a second battery , car adaptor, or see if it comes with a new battery. It was one of the first color screen phones so the battery life wasn't all that great. SHould last you a day if you talk less tan 2 hours, but being old and coming from ebay no telling how good the battery still is. The 4400's battery seemed to only last a bout a year in a lot of those models and then needed replaced.
