Razr OS

Whats up wit hthe new OS of the Razor, Did they stop using Motorolas interface and go with LG? It is far from user friendly.
I will switch back to my e815 that still utilizes motorola software.
Why did they make this change? You cant change the soft keys, its not at all a good move.
Anybody want to buy a 2 day old razr?

Where have you been? It is not LG's interface that they are using. Verizon has implemented a standard UI that must be used on all phones (non PDA) that are made for use on the Verizon network. The e815 was the last one without it.

It is Verizon doing this.

it's a good idea, just a bad UI.

I think the UI is a very good and easy to use UI. I used to think it was a GREAT idea. But, now that I have a phone other than an LG (who designs their phones specifically to work with the UI), I have to say it is the WORST idea I have ever seen. A phone is made to work best with the UI of that manufacturer. If you force that manufacturer to use a standard UI (that the phone was not designed to run), you are asking for problems.

Case in point: Look at the Samsung a970 and compare it to the a940. They are the same exact phone just used on different networks. The 970 uses the Verizon UI and is horribly sluggish and lacks some features. The 940 is l...

I think it's a disgrace that a device meant to look and feel professional is given an OS designed for 5 year old kids i.e. LG menus. The phone looks like a toy now.

"Verizon Wireless, we never stop crippling".

I think I'm going to buy a second E-815 to use as replacement when mine breaks. In fact, I suggest everyone gets that phone as it is the same quality and you get to send Ringtones to your phone without having to pay for it. You can unlock it in order to copy data from memory card to phone memory, etc.

The E-815 smokes the razr by far.

Yeah, the e815 is good as far as not having the Verizon standard UI WHEN IT IS NOT LOCKING UP AND RESETTING!!!!!!!!

And, just so you k...

Can you blame them??? LG sells a ton of phones through Verizon. Verizon promotes LG phones MUCH more than any other manufacturer.

If I was a phone manufacturer, I too would bend over for any carrier that does for me what Verizon does for LG.

it was more visually pleasing/user friendly? If each phone functions the same, if the phonebook or gallery are always in the same place wouldn't that make things easier for the consumer?

its not the OS but the phone processor. i had a sam 670 and the sam os was very slugish. i now have a sam 910 with the new ver UI. it moves normaly. no lag at all.

my bigest compaint with the UI is that if was sold before it was finished. take at look at groups. on the sam i can only send txt msgs through groups. on the lg 8100 i can call people through groups. sam didn't finish implementing the UI on the 950 before it went on sale for some reason.

Whatever it is, my a970 is horribly sluggish. And when I was with sprint, none of my Samsungs were sluggish at all.
