Holiday Minutes

jpg

Who else besides Verizon has stopped the free holiday minutes? This sucks and a 10 year customer will now switch to Cingular or TMobile. At least I will be able to get roll over minutes and a Razr without the wait and promises.

If you didn't upgrade your contract you still have holidays, right?

no holidays for anyone. unless you got some kind of special that was put in writing. holidays was never a part of contract. was stopped around 1st of september. but if you have in, and who you call has vzw.then it is free calling.

I can understand stopping the holiday free minutes. It was the way they did it. Very little notice. I can not find it on their web site and since I have paperless billing, I never saw it on my bill. There was a recording on the Verizon 800 number yesterday stating the holiday minutes stopped Sept. 1.
As for good luck with the other 2 carriers. Come on. Basically all service in the big cities is the same. Some cities and areas have better service than the other and visa versa.
Everywhere you go, someone has a phone in their ear and they are not all Verizon. We all have been in an area where our Verizon phone did not work and a Sprint, Cingular, or TMobile did work.

reception isn't the only part of service. granted t-mobile has awesome customer service, the reception lags anywhere outside the cities. cingular has good reception but poor cs. vzw has some of the best of both.

I think it's interesting after 10 years of service you'd so quickly leave. It's interesting for me to see how fast someone will say, "but I've been a customer for..." and then leave on a whim. Not about service or coverage, but because they didn't get something for nothing. jpg, you're obviously more than welcome to change services as that is your choice, but now you know why most reps kinda roll their eyes at the "loyalty" of some customers. Also, while you may actually be a 10 year customer, there are many others who "claim" to be long-term customers and when I check their info, ya, they've been with us for less than 6 months.

If we did that people would complain about their time being wasted or using up their minutes or blah blah blah. It'd be something for sure.

Also I can tell you work in a call center....

That, and Cingular has better call quality than Vzw... Even thou 100% of the plp in this forum will say otherwise. It's true!

I am a long term Verizon customer. I said this earlier when Verizon got rid of holiday minutes and I'll say it again. Verizon cost itself a large amount of goodwill by rescinding holiday minutes. Holiday minutes was a gesture that created a warm spot in my heart for this large corporation, which is now gone. Although I will not switch carriers over such an issue, my feelings toward the company have changed as a result of Verizon's action.

Well Pete1660 I AM SURE VERIZON WILL BE MISSING MY PAYMENT ON MY TWO PHONES EVERY MONTH. I AM LEAVING THEM AFTER 15 YEARS.
ALL OVER THE 12 MINUTES THAT I TALKED ON THANKGIVING. IT IS THE PRINCIPLE OF THE THING, NOT THE MINUTES. I NEVER GO OVER MY LIMIT. VERIZON IS JUST BEING CHICKEN SH(T OVER THIS ISSUE. THE OLD VERIZON WOULD HAVE CARED ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE PRESENT VERIZON COULD CARE LESS. THERE WILL BE A TIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE WHEN ALL THE CARRIERS WILL BE EQUAL AS TO QUALITY. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO GENERAL MOTORS. ATT. ETC. they all get theirs in the end. it will happen to verizon when CDMA is obsolete. THINK ABOUT IT.

Yeah really, which is it? Verizon Wireless does have LEADING customer service. The rep that did not credit you did it for a reason. We haven't had holiday min since before 4th of July! We stopped the promotion for a reason. Not so we can continue to give customers holiday minutes although the promotion has ended! In this situation it doesn't matter weather you have been with us for 10 months or 10 years. It would take me a lot more to leave a company than 12 holiday minutes.

Oh now I see why you are only a cellular rep. No education. WEATHER is the climate.... Whether is the correct word in your post.
And my experience through the past year with Verizon customer service has been less than excellent. This company is going backwards and it seems the others are going forward.
Just my opinion and it is my money that I spend. Principle is the problem. They show no loyalty and the HOLIDAY MINUTES were stopped NOT for July 4th BUT FOR LABOR DAY IN SEPTEMBER. As a rep you should know that fact.

10 Years with Verizon???? Funny, because Verizon has not been in existance for 10 years. The merger that formed Verizon took place in late 1999 or early 2000. Thus, you could have only been a Verizon customer for 6 years at the most. Either that or you are just completely full of $hit!!!!

C'mon Anxio, you are much smarter than this. CDMA is a newer technology than GSM. And if the base of CDMA isn't better than GSM, why is the next upgrade for GSM actually WCDMA???? Now, granted it is not true CDMA, but it is much closer to CDMA than GSM ever was before.

JPG do you pay your credit card bills without reading them every month? The changes you are complaining about were posted on your bill before they happened. If you choose not to read your bill because you CHOOSE to have paperless billing then don’t act like VZW pulled one over on you. I have paperless billing but I choose to read my bill and be knowledgeable about my account.

Most people aren't responsible enough to take care of their kids, so it seems reasonable that people would assume it's always somebody else's responsibility when it comes to everything else. Now I'm just waiting to see how many flames will come across re-stating anyone's comments and twist them for their own devious ways.
