Is that price for new service only? We have a family plan, and the second phone (originally given to another member of the family) is pretty lousy. We don't qualify yet for the 2 year discount. Looking to replace that second phone with an updated bluetooth model. Would VZ offer a deal on a replacement second phone if we added the unlimited data plan and purchased the data card (Kyocera) from them?

no. if you aren't eligible for upgrade, they may give you 25% off the retail price. but the data plan/card won't give you any leverage for a new phone.

Websites are giving this phone away for free with a 2 year agreement. So, if 49.99 is with a 2 year agreement it's another showing by Verizon that they overprice their phones.

The Verizon Wireless Independent agent store I work at is selling this phone $50 with a $50 mail in rebate = FREE! Plus we're throwing in the car charger, leather case or holster. How's that add up for ya?

I just left the newly opened VZW store in Wash, DC -- I was virtually alone in the store and there were NO blaring signs about any kind of discounts, special deals, new phones-- nothing 😲Fortunately, I didn't have to go out of my was to see this nothing of a sales day. Wwhat a disappointment 😈
