Will any of the new promos come close to this deal. Cingulars deal is pretty aggresive, not to mention if they include rollover and unliimitd in network calling... As a loyal VZW customer, they sure got my attention with that one.

I could give a fig how many minutes they offer, if I cant make a call to my wife while at Target no thanks. If I was looking for a minute per cost plan I would go with T-mobile, at least they have there chit together.

True, but Cingulars network is not that bad here and the price is half of what I pay. I almost would have to think about having a few dropped calls for a 50% savings. I am hoping that VZW will come out with some more aggressive plans soon.

Maybe they will, if it works for you go for it. I'm not sure what plan you are on that this one would save you half, but I will stick with good customer service and no dropped calls. Good luck and I don't mean that in a sarcastic way.

I believe I pay $80 some for $1400 anytime mins. Then I have the share stuff, and text, and internet stuff on top of that. What should I be paying with VZW for 1400 anytime mins.? Who knows maybe I am getting screwed and don't even know it.

nah, that is the plan I'm on too, except I don't have internet or text.

You are correct that would be half if not more.

How did you come across this info?, is it just a rumor?

I definately would rather stick with VZW, even if I have to pay a little more. Rarely get dropped calls and if I do VZW will credit me minutes for it. Every customer service has its problems but VZW's is the best I have seen.

First I heard of this. Is it jus' a rumor you heard?

Reason I ask is 'cus it don' seem to make much sense. Cingular is already havin' problems with their network's performance, if they start offerin' a lot mo' minutes for the same money, their network would get overtaxed an' would probably get a lot worse.

Think about it- all their current customers would be getting triple the peak minutes for the same money. Can Cingular's network (or anybody's, really) hand...

Where do you get your info from? Where are all of these wide spread problems at? Oh, I know, I heard from a friend who heard from her sisters uncle's little cousin. Some people belief alot about what they hear. There are some problems in integration areas but stop dramatizing please. I have both carriers and here in Texas (everywhere), Cingular is better. Verizon works in a few more places than Cingular does when I'm in Cali (San Diego & LA Metro) but about the same. Have people in Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Alabama, and Mississippi with Cingular. Guess what, none of the problems you keep referring to. Just kills me how some of you take that JD Powers survey and hold it as gold. They go to 2 intersections in a city and think they can...

Wow, someone sure is defensive. Don' freak playa. šŸ˜

Even Cingular's own CEO admits that they're goin' through the "heavy lifting" of integratin' their networks right now. An' that stuff ain't easy. Verizon hadda go through the same thing when they did their big merger, an' it was 2 or 3 years before they got really good.

It'll be the same thing fo' Cingular, which is why Cingular's CEO is sayin' publicly that Cingular won' really have it together until the end of 2007.

'till then, yeah, get used to losin' in all the JD Powers and Consumer Reports surveys. Check out Cingular's CEO's comments on the state of Cingular here:

I came with both barrels and then some. Your reply was weak. I guess I'm gonna have to break it down to you like Nextel 18 does. You claim that problems are everywhere and excessive dropped calls. I just said you were wrong b/c from my continued experience as a customer for both company there is not much difference between the two. Also, I told you all the places that I have been which is from Florida to Cali along I-10, I-8, I-20, I-4, & I-57. Great service from both. Dont just say Cingy sucks, tell us where these problem areas are so maybe a potential customer can make a better informed decision. Lets be real, stop repeated what your bosses have beaten into your heads. That goes for the Cingy guys too!

I called Cingulars cust. service and he said that they do not have a plan of any sort. I could of sworn I saw 1400 for 39 bones. Who knows it could of been a weekend promo. I am going to ask my wife if she remembers the commercials.

It could of been, but I do not think so. There is a post about cingular coming out with 1500 for 49.99 on or about Thanksgiving. That might of been it. I was drinking and watching football so who knows. Either way they are both better than what I have. However it would kill me to switch because I have had nothing but good luck with VZW.

Not defensive, just aggitated by some of the crap that gets said in here. Verizon should have an overall better network, they are not in the middle of integration. What I want u and the others to understand is that I have both and have used them all over the place. Guess what, identical in service damn near everywhere I go. Here in Texas, Cingular got um beat, in LA and San Diego areas, identical but Verizon has a few less dead spots and better clarity. I don't have an excessive amount of dropped calls with either but I get them with each one. I just want give all the company fanboys in here some good info.

We hear ya! But given the "Verizon" board... come on. That's like a Klan member making noise at the Apollo. I agree that in most cases, service is probably close to the same. I do like how you understate Verizon's coverage in LA and San Diego as "having a few less dead spots and better clarity" but still state that Cingular has got Verizon "beat" in Texas (Honestly I have no idea how the coverages compare). If a few less dead spots and better clarity isn't enough for you to say Verizon has Cingular beat in Cali, then what exactly is so great about Cingular in Texas versus Verizon? I understand the whole, I want everyone to get some good info, but remember where you're posting. If I'm posting in the Cingular board, I try to not focus o...

Well dats the funny thing.. you say elsewhere that the claims of Cingular havin' problems 'cus of network integration are way exaggerated, but then here you say that Verizon should have an overall better network 'cus they are not in the middle of integration. Which one is right? šŸ˜•

You also say elsewhere that JD Power sucks an' is no reliable measure, but they actually agree wit' you about Cingular bein' better than Verizon in Texas. So I guess since you think JD Power is crap, maybe they're wrong about Cingular being so good in Texas? Or are you jus' mad at them 'cus they rate Verizon as bein' better than Cingular in most of the rest of the country?

I know its frustratin' to be a Cingular fan these days, an' some people probably do ...

Man 2am in the morning šŸ¤£ . Cingy fanboy, hardly. Enjoy them just like the other. Read my posts correctly. Yes I did say overall Verizon network is better. I never got on here and tried to dispute that. What I am trying to get through that thick skull of yours is that when you talk and say things, you generalize like things are crazy everywhere. My post was to inform you that they are not and I wanted to let you know that. I won't have anything to add to your post if you said Cingy sucks in (insert a place). That is called provideing accurate info. Please try it dude or dudette.

Don' know what your talkin' bout, bro. I bust out accurate info always an' there really ain't nothin' youve said so far that I don' know. An' no, I have not said Cingular sucks everywhere. All I said was that theyre havin' network integration issues, somethin' you AGREE with me on, an' yet you still cryin' on 'bout SOMETHIN'. Don' know exactly what.

But if it'll calm your Cingular fan jitters, I'll come out an' say it fo' you: Cingular don' suck everywhere. They do suck in some areas, like anyone, an' overall they are behind Verizon in a lot of places an' a lot of measures, but no, they don' suck everywhere. JD Power even says so.

Feel better now? šŸ™‚

Hum, I don' know if da words 'correct info' an' 'unofficial weblog' go together, but if it's right, it means three things:

1) Cingular realizes it can't compete head-on with Verizon in the premium-priced carrier market (least for now), an' instead is goin' the T-Mobile "we're cheap" route

2) Verizon is going to have a choice: either

a) leave prices alone an' rake in the profits, or
b) do what they've done b4 an' match any an' all Cingular price cuts, an' chase marketshare instead of profit

Sprint-Nextel will also have the same choice.

3) T-Mobile is probably hosed, at least fo' the holidays (assuming the promotions are not permanent), since they is already offerin' some very generous promotions that one an' possibly two ...
