Well I have this phone for Alltel which is the Nokia 6255i. I never really used the phone as I am more comfortable with my 710. Well I just now started getting into playing with it and noticed somethings Verizon will not like. Nokia left this phone total open, BT with OBEX, IR. Well I just purchased a 1 gig MMC card and have been watching my movies and listening to my music on this thing. There was a rumor you could only access 512mb of the 1 gig card but thats untrue, you have access to all 1 gig of the memory. Well what Verizon will not like is that I found that you can make full mp3, AAC songs into ringtones. Its pretty nice now to make your own ringtone as there is nothing to do but drag the whole song o

Cross your fingers and hope the 10/23 release date holds. I would be annoyed if this phone got pushed back any further... I've been waiting to use my upgrade for 3 months now.
While with recent phone releases VZW does have nice alternatives now, I really want to compare them to the 6256i.

Haven't heard anything new... and the fact that call-out cards for it went out to the VZW stores seems to indicate that it will be available there as well as Best Buy (though maybe not at first?).

I never stated they were going to cripple the BT, but I did suggest that with the phone allowing you to use your mp3s on your MMC card as a ringer would be one thing they will try to disable. >

This was your statement and one of your supporting reasons as to why the delay for VZW. To be honest with you I don't really feel like arguing with you about something so trivial. THE PHONE WILL BE FULL OBEX. So that is not one of the reasons for the delay. I really don't care why you "THINK" the ph. is delayed I was only trying to help you assuming that since you were posting in the VZW forum you were either an employee or a customer. Seriously, get a life!
