You know I have not seen Nextel18 in so long, I hope everything is ok...He did not get banned did he?

I don't have stock in any company and I would like to see the 3Q numbers when they are released. I have a feeling that between VZW and Cingular, that their net adds will be rather similar.

As to Nextel 18.. well check this one out. I was shopping at the local B. Dalton bookstore yesterday and they offered me to sign up with my email for coupons and things. Well I didn't but I briefly scanned those that did signup. Amazingly there was a Nextel18@(omitted).com email address. Makes me wonder if that is our Nextel 18. And if his name is Adam. 😛

I dont think that verizon and cingular will be that similiar, I think VZW will be about 1.9 mil and Cingy will be aroung 1.2-1.4, which is about a 25% difference.

Sprint-Nextel is definately going to eat some loss. There is no doubt about it. There is not nearly as much fanfare about this merger when compared to the buyout of AT&T by Cingular.

Seriously though I feel that VZW and Cingular will have a pretty even net add quarter. Mosty likely VZW will be higher in adds but by how much I cannot say. I feel that Cingular will still have higher churn rates. Their AT&T migrations are still having problems and that will cost them in the long run. Example: Signal loss from AT&T to Cing when migrated.

This is just my speculation based upon the customers I talk to, the amount of business I see at the Cingular store and my own personal store.

The difference in net adds wouldn't have anything to do with inferior customer service would it?

Also, I love when someone comes in with a Cingular phone that they signed up for WITHOUT deposit, but VZW wanted a 400.00 deposit. I had someone come in and state that Cingular approved them...VZW wants a deposit...etc. I call to see if there might have been a mistake on the credit pull and the rep says something to the nature of, "Well, since they have a charge off account here...there...everywhere..." Oh, but yet Cingular will sign them up without a deposit...too risky. My churn rate on Nextel has went up considerably since they lowered the high deposit from 500 to 100.00. Yeah, Merrill Lynch's projections are just brutal. Verizon is allegedly gonna do 1.95 million net adds now, and Cingular is slated for only 900k, with Sprint-Nextel in similar territory. If you're a VZW competitor... yikes 😳

I personally don't think it'll be quite THAT bad for Cingy and Sprextel, but there should be a pretty large gulf in net adds between VZW and everybody else.

Funny how quick we went from the Cingy/ATTW merger hype to VZW pretty much owning everybody. I'm a VZW fan, sure, but its getting to the poi...
